Background

Born from a black family from St.Kitts & Nevis the government and white men played a big part in shaping Aziza’s family history, back in 1923 several black men including Aziza ancestor was injected with a fatal disease called Severe Combined Immunodeficiency, or SCID for short. The disease was pasted on from generations to generations, the women carried it while the men suffered it, although it killed out several of the men in the family, the women studied and went to school to figure out a way to live with the disease. Aziza’s mother moved to Houston, TX and became an Infectious Disease Specialist, she help treated the men in her family and other black victims of infectious diseases, she ended up meeting the love of her life and getting married and pregnant years later. While pregnant with her first child, Aziza, she realized that she was a carrier of the fatal disease. Worried, Aziza’s mother took her studies to the next level and tried treating herself unfortunately with the wrong medication, she ended up pasting it to her child anyway and making Aziza the first female in the family to suffer the disease. Aziza grew up staying in the house and being a home-schooled student. All she ever had growing up was her little sibling, mother, & father.

Background

Storm Arias was born in Alberqurque, New Mexico. Her father an immigrant from Mexico, and her late mother an immigrant from Venezuela. Storm’s mother worked hard to graduate from medical school, becoming her families’ first surgeon while her father excelled in petroleum engineering. They were indeed a well-off family, and she was and has always been their gem. What they hadn’t planned for, was her mother passing away at the age of 37 to AIDS. She had contracted it while a young girl before immigrating. They had always known she was battling the virus, and that she had passed it off to Storm during her labor, Storm had moved too fast for doctors to safely perform a C-Sections which would've nearly killed her chance of contracting HIV. For seventeen years, through intense rounds of medicines and health management, Storm was able to live a relatively healthy life. That is, until her eighteenth birthday, one year after her mother’s tragic passing, Storm’s virus began to mutate too fast for the antiviral drugs to handle. Later that year, she would be diagnosed with full blown aids.
