Can you answer this question for me: What were your 5 favorite things about SCAD when you attended, and what are 5 things you wish you had know before you started at SCAD? Hello! This is from a Class of 2006 student who is now a SCAD employee: I enjoyed events by the performing art students through their shows. The technology/resources were incredible. I was able to use top of the line equipment. Job opportunities. Being able to network and to utilize the CAS office was great. I was actually able to find my dream job before graduating! The students. Having students from so many different backgrounds and design styles coming all together. Collaboration opportunities. When I was working on a logo, I was not happy with the quality I was creating. I was able to find someone in illustration as well as someone who knew traditional calligraphy with a brush and was able to help me capture that look I wanted. 1. One thing I wish I knew more about were the different type of minors available. I would have loved to have added at least one and to help diversify my portfolio. I wish that I took advantage of SCAD summer programs while I was still in high school. I took classes in the summer time as a college student and was surprised seeing so many high school students! Take part in more of the events. There are so many clubs, such as volunteer groups that went over the area giving their time. I regret not taking part in the study abroad option. To be able to go to Lacoste as a student would have been incredible. I wish I would have networked more and taken part in the career fairs early. While a student their freshmen year would not think about going to those events, it would have been great to get that experience early on to at least see what career fairs were like and how employers and students interacted with each other.
