athena-donovan:
A pause formed as she listened, giving a small nod of the head. “Dom, okay. I don’t really have a nickname, sadly. Athena is a mouthful. Um, I don’t really know who. I-” she looked at the glass in front of her, slowly watching him make a new one. “Thank you. Um, yeah. I’m off tonight and figured I could watch a hockey game where I’m not sitting on edge of the seat stressed out and trying to things to talk to the players about. So I’m just relaxing. How are you? Besides being at work and all that fun stuff. Is being a bartender fun? I wouldn’t know because I’m a bit of a klutz and I would be dropping glasses instead of filing them,” she smiled as she took a drink of the old drink she had, rubbing her lips. Athena couldn’t help but watch him form the drink, not really ever watching or paying attention to it before. She normally was way too distracted most of the time. “Why do I feel like there’s a slight motive behind this? Because I don’t think you would just remake a drink for anyone.”
Dominic worked quickly as Athena spoke, his hands grabbing bottles, jiggers and and a nice clean, cold glass with speed and precision. He hadn’t run into her in a while, and it was genuinely nice to see her without her cast, and it was a treat to have a familiar face at the bar which was typically filled with angry New Yorkers or excited tourists. “Yeah, well feel free to hang out as long as you want, though I’m not sure how much you’ll actually hear the commentators very well. I’ve been alright. Same as always; school is sucking the life out of me and my landlord is draining my bank account. But whatever,” he said, shrugging his shoulders. Before long, Dominic set down the glass in front of Athena with far too much flair to be deemed normal, even in a New York bar on a Friday night. But normal was never really Dom’s thing. “Can’t I just make you a great drink without you questioning hidden motives?” He questioned playfully, arching an eyebrow at her. He did have motives. He wanted to know everything that was going on with Athena and Malcom, not to be nosey, but to protect his rather fragile friends heart. “But okay, since you’ve already called me out on it, what’s going on with you and Malcom? You hanging out? Hookin’ up? What’s going on?”
