lacywardâ:
Lacy watched her choose, and smiled. âThatâs a wonderfultastic movie!â Granted, the Girl would say that about any of them. âShe even looks a little like you! And Iâm like the beast. GRRR!â The five year oldâs fearsome growl ended with her hat falling off. She scrambled to pick it up and shove it back on, hating having a cold and yucky looking head.
Wendy giggled a little, though felt bad when the hat fell off. She bit her lip and turned so she could try and set the movie up in general. âLetâs hope itâs as good as you say then.â
lacywardâ:
âGood.â She didnât wanna get hurt by aliens. But if Miss Wendy was sure, then Lacy would believe her. She was bigger. âOkay. Okay. Pick one of this movies!â She instructed, opening a case filled with every Disney movie ever. She let Wendy peruse, excited to hear her choice.
Wendy smiled a little, a bit overwhelmed because she had no idea at all but she eventually pointed out beauty and the beast and looked up at her questioningly. âWhat about that one?â
lacywardâ:
âCoolâŠâ lacy didnât really understand that this wasnt exactly logical. She had more than bought in. She believed Wendy. âAre they mean? Can we keeps them away? I donâ wanna get hurtedâŠâ that would be the opposite of all better. Lacy was learning about opposites.
âmy FAVORITES! Does you wanna watch them with me?â
Wendy offered her a slight smile. âDonât worry, theyâll leave you alone...â Not that she knew for certain everything about how they operated or who they went after but Wendy didnât really want to scare her. âSure... letâs watch.â She agreed, nodding when Lacy asked if she wanted to watch with her. She felt a bit more at ease now and she didnât mind. She was curious anyway.
lacywardâ:
âsir doesnât seem very nice.â she said, decicively and childishly. and that was the end of that, because wendy said something much more interesting to lacy. âaliens? real ones?â she wasnât accusatory, not at all. because she was at the age where this didnât honestly sound too odd to her. âreally? you met some? what did they look like? do they talk with their minds or do they have mouths? if you can talk with your mind itâs called tel-o-path. i think.â
âmy favorite disney movie is⊠tangled. or little mermaid. or brave. they all have pretty hair and go on awesome adventures!!â
Wendy frowned but she didnât say anything because sometimes she thought so too. Even back then sheâd thought that but brainwashing was complex. So was psychosis. Wendy nodded. âYeah, real ones. They talk with their minds.â she said, looking over at her. âAnd they can get into yours if they want to.â Thatâs what theyâd done to her, wasnât it? âSounds nice.â Wendy didnât know what else to say because she knew nothing (or remembered nothing) about the movies.
lacywardâ:
âdo you like stories?â she asked while they walked. âmy favorites have princesses! but i like all the disney movies. and all that. but sometimes peoples tell like⊠really good stories? and i wants to know if you has stories!â she grabbed wendyâs hand gently to hold as they walked, swinging their arms.
Wendy shook her head. âSir never used to tell us stories.â She said, trying not to think too deep into any of that right now. âI think the aliens took them all out of my brain.â She said, tapping the side of her head. She looked down when she took her hand, not expecting it and not entirely sure how to respond but she kept it there. âWhatâs your favourite disney movie?â Wendy had only seen a couple but sheâd been dissociating at the time and she had no memory of any before being taken.
lacywardâ:
âIâm good at it!â she said, explaining. she didnât know why somebody wouldnât like it. but she digressed. âIâd love coloring! come on! in my room i have lots of books and markers!â
Wendy didnât even think about things like maths anymore. Or all the classes sheâd missed growing up. All the growing up in general she hadnât been able to do. âOkay.â She nodded, pulling herself up to her feet so she could trail along with the kid. She supposed she could keep her entertained for a bit.
elliotxharperâ:
âWellâŠâhave you seen one before? In real life?âÂ
âUh huh.â She nodded. âThey took me away somewhere.â
lacywardâ:
Lacy looked up. sheâd started talking, so it was okay to talk. âI like to color⊠and watch movies. and learn my plus-es and minus-es!â she said it proudly. Miss Belle thought she was very good with her plus-es and minus-es
âYou like maths?â Wendy crinkled her nose as she looked back. She hadnât learned anything past the age of 9, except for the apocalypse. She shrugged. âWe could go and colour?â Wendy offered.
elliotxharperâ:
ââŠâOh.â Elliot paused, trying to figure out what to say. âDoesnât thatâŠ.âonly happenâ yâknow, likeâŠ. in the movies and stuff?âÂ
âOf course not.â
lacywardâ:
âI guess not.â Lacy shrugged, looking a little dissapointed with no talking allowed, so she just sat quietly. she watched a clock move, slowly. it was boring. but she didnât want to make miss wendy sad by asking to talk. so she didnât.
Wendy looked over and sighed, feeling a little bad. If sheâd been more up in her fantasy land, maybe she wouldnât have. âWhatâs your favourite thing to do?â
lacybrightâ:
âokay.â she said, sitting down on the floor, in the middle of the hallway. she would wait here. after a few minutes, she noticed something that was a little bit of a problem. this was B O R I N G . âwait⊠cans ya stay?â
Wendy lapsed into a daydream. Her night terrors had come back last night and she was tired. She wanted to stay awake, afraid of having more. When the little girl spoke again, she looked up. âI guess.â She wanted to go to her room though. âDo we have to talk?â
icarianwinnieâ:
Winnie narrowed her eyes slightly as she looked up at the person distracting her from her very important mission. She was about to ignore the comment until the other spoke up again, saying sheâd already tried. ââŠâWhat else have you tried?â She asked curiously, looking up at the other.Â
âLots of things.â Wendy stated, thinking back to when she was first brought here and she had tried to get out, get back to Sirâs, the safety (ha, some safety) of the known, instead of the terror of this unknown place. The aliens, if they were nearby. âThereâs always someone watching.â
elliotxharperâ:
âAliens?â He asked curiously, head tilting slightly to the side.Â
âUm, yeah... they get in your head and...â Wendy shrugged. âTheyâre watching.â

As Leo walked away, he was pleading in his mind that they wouldnât say anything. It seemed he got his wish because the person he walked into was already walking away as well. He let out a quick sigh of relief and continued to look. However, that relief was short lived when someone else caught his eye. Was he okay? Definitely not, but he gave a quick nod anyway. He then gave a second nod to answer the question of whether or not he was lost. He bit his lip as, looking around for a moment. After a couple of seconds, he remembered he had the notebook that the doctors gave him to write. He opened up to a fresh page and wrote with his shaking hand âMusic roomâ and hesitantly held the notebook out for the other to read.Â
Wendy looked up at him from where she sat, tilting her head curiously. He nodded but he didnât look that okay, not that Wendy would usually have even taken much notice. âOh.â Music room. Did he not speak or something? Wendy had met a girl like that once. âI can show you.â She said, moving to stand up.
After dealing with a feeling of anxiety and unease for at least a year now, Leo thought he was relatively used to that horrible pit in the bottom of his stomach. The tight knots and nausea when absolutely nothing was warranting those feelings. However, once he arrived at Brielle, those feelings felt like they were at least three times more intense. Strangers were everywhere, he didnât know where anything was, he didnât know who was known for being kind and who he should be extra cautious around⊠and it wasnât like he could ask anyone. The very thought of producing any sound from his mouth made him feel sick to his stomach. It even made him feel dizzy and lightheaded⊠He was trying to relax, practice breathing exercises and positive self talk or whatever, in the rec room. However, people were coming in and out, they were talking over each other, nurses and guards were watching, and there was absolutely no way Leo could calm himself down with so much going on. He needed someplace quiet⊠Without anyone around.Â
It was in that moment when he remembered a staff member saying something about a music room. Did it have a piano? He thought he remembered them saying something about a piano⊠and guitars, right? Where was it⊠fuck why couldnât he remember where they said it was? The boy got up in a hurry and walked to the hallway, hoping heâd magically walk up to the room. However, the hallway just felt like it was never ending, and all he saw were closed doors that appeared to be offices. Eyes frantically looking from one door to the next, it was clear that he was not paying any attention or noticed the person walking towards him. It was only when he walked directly in their path and collided with them had he realized they were there. The boy stumbled back, eyes wide in shock. He wanted to say sorry.. He wanted to make sure they were alright. God dammit, why couldnât he say a simple sorry? Instead he just stared at the person for a few seconds in pure panic. After that painfully awkward and stressful encounter, Leo gave up on trying to apologize and started to continue walking down the hall in search for the music room. ( @bhqstarter )
Wendy was sitting on the floor. Just on the ground with her back against the wall. Legs out in front of her. She only had socks on her feet and she was fiddling with a tattered little notebook but she wasnât really reading it, just messing with one of the pages, tearing little pieces off and letting them fall to the floor. She was tired and she was unhappy. Sheâd just had an EMDR session that brought up some stuff and she was feeling pretty upset about it. Trodden down. As she glanced up, she noticed the guy walk into the other person down the hall from where she sat. âAre you okay?â She found herself asking as he soon started coming her way, though looked like he was looking for something. âAre you lost?â
