Wert (current url wert-the-king-of-the-maps) in the past was a rather noticeable member of the nomap community. Together with other 2 people he ran one of the biggest map discord servers, Maps Against Abuse (MAA). He was also struggling with various unidentified mental issues, but up to a certain moment he handled them fine. The sudden breakdown happened several months ago, when he encountered inappropriate materials (a picture of a naked child, from another eye witnesses description, not sexual in nature) on twitter. The blog where he found it was reported and deleted. After that he somewhat snapped and for some reason decided that people he worked together with cover up child porn. He spread these accusations onto both people who never were on twitter and people who also reported that picture. In March it resulted in a crisis: he threatened doxxing his co admin and former friend from MAA, and started leaking screenshots of conversations of server members (posting screenshots of private conversations is generally a habit of his). The server was deleted. Now the confrontation is occurring on tumblr.
After a failed attempt to send a minor map into another server as a spy he slightly changed tactics. Now he is targeting new members of the community, those who are unaware of the story behind. First they receive messages like this:
Then, if they continue interaction, he starts sending them various screenshots of his personal conversations with different people. If they refuse to accept it as proof of, how he puts it, “wrongdoings”, it might result in outright harassment.
At this point he bullied 4 people, 3 of whom were minors, to the point of deactivating their accounts. He posts parts of their dms from time to time, apparently finding no shame in his actions, and here is the end of his conversation with one of them, whom he drove to a panic attack.
He follows a lot of popular map blogs, and this is how he finds his next victims - we all reblog introduction messages of new members. In order to prevent him from accessing them, I blocked him yesterday, although usually it’s against my rules. If you don’t want yourself or anyone else to be harassed by him too, I highly recommend doing the same.
