lorena could only imagine what was tough for mr. pierce - of all people. he always seemed like one of the most genuinely happiest guys around that prided about what he taught and his wife. then again, it wasn’t exactly her business - but she couldn’t help but be so damn curious all the while. “yeah?” she responded, tilting her head to the side as he stared back at her with a seemingly confused expression. did he really not recognize her? she didn’t exactly change. maybe a few less pounds, lighter blonde hair, and tanned skin, really; but nothing too drastic. maybe it was her make-up? nah. “you don’t remember me? really?” she let out a small laugh, furrowing her brows in confusion. she hadn’t noticed his gaze slip down over her body as she shifted her focus to his untouched menu. “lorena bellamy. been a student of yours. no worries, i wouldn’t doubt that teachers forget their students over the summer.” she mused, raking her teeth over the tip of her tongue. “anything else you’re interested in?” she asked, referring to the menu.
it was all will could do to not spit his drink out, instead coughing slightly trying to regain his composure. “lorena?” he croaked out in response completely shocked at how different she looked to the extent he couldn’t recognize her. maybe he was blinded by his pathetic lust, or that he wanted to be blinded to it. both options were equally disappointing to him. “i’m sorry, i haven’t exactly been myself recently.” he said shaking his head at his idiocy, remembering the blue wide eyed girl from over the years. “not that that’s anything you need to know.” william added in a uncomfortable low tone, leaning up to grab at the coffee.he had never been one to pay much attention to his students other then on an academic level, too concerned with falling in love and then trying to fix his broken marriage at the time. he couldn’t understand if that made him a good teacher, but right now he just felt uncomfortable. choosing to ignore the fact his eyes had been roaming her without a second thought, ‘jesus christ’ he thought in complete disdain at his actions. “ it’s nice to see you ms.bellamy.” he said trying to regain the lost image of a strict teacher and not the hungover mess he was currently. “nope, no i’m good. thank you.” he blurted out in an attempt at being polite, bringing the cup to his lips to gain more of the reality check he desperately needed.
