How she ended up in this position, she didn’t know but Wes was always trying to push his boundaries. Even if for the moment, he did seem vulnerable and needing some sort of specific answer from her. She knew that people needed to hear things in order to feel better, but she didn’t understand why this mattered to him still years later. “Hey,” she said softly as he twisted her gaze back toward his and she sighed again lightly. “Yes, we were something, okay?”
Wes did care about all of the things that had happened back then even if they didn’t faze her today. Admittedly, they didn’t matter in the grand scheme of things since she had clearly moved on and it wasn’t to say he hadn’t too but he was definitely still caught up on her somehow. His face softened when she finally looked back at him and gave him what he’d been wanting to hear. Without thinking, he slipped his hand over her cheek and leaned in to catch her lips.
