Contrary to popular belief, we did not spend the entirety of our fall break scaling rusty bridges.
Instead, our decevingly 5' 3'' ringleader/brother (pictured behind a sassy A) tempted us into a day trip to DC. We took into consideration his inevitable future shenanigans and preempted revenge by coercing him into visiting a trill barber shop. There, we contemplated how many stars he should etch into his fade amidst poppin it to Bandz A Make Her Dance. #schemin
Our next achievement involved making it onto Overheard at GW through some inappropriate commentary involving frat hazing and lines of coffee. Consult the website if you're interested. After a meal fit for a team of professional athletes (read: sumo wrestlers) and a trip to an ice cream parlor posed as a rave, we got our workout by taking a slightly unconventional route to The W rooftop lounge. Never underestimate the back staircase. #winning
A taxi ride later, we weaved through Howard's homecoming and continued our dance marathon at Jumbo Slice (another food joint posed as a rave, we see you DC). For our Philly readers, the slices were almost as good as Lorenzo's. #RIP
Our excursion came to a sweet end with brunch at the "sexy" (quote: JH) chocolate lounge, Coco Sala. Fall break never disappoints. We realize this write-up is a bit abstract. Look for more relatable posts in the future. #sorrywerenotsorry
Eat, drink, be merry, repeat.

PS: Don't let Sandy kill your vibe
Balance. It's a delicate thing. We lost ours. But not to worry, we've found it. West Philly Imports was conceived during fall break one year ago as a creative outlet for our otherwise quantitative college existence.
As the year progressed, we neglected our balancing factor. Focusing our energy towards a lifestyle that we thought would bring us the highest ends, we eliminated something that supported our happiness. At the time, we didn't realize the immeasurable value our blog added to the other factors- our academics and life ambitions. Big takeaway: Pinpoint the things in your life that truly matter to you- be it your friends, family, interests, or aspirations. Making time for your passions will not only allow you to live a significantly happier existence, but will also allow you to achieve sustainable success. Allocate your time accordingly. It's all about balance.
One year later, it's fall break again, and we're back. Enjoy lovers.
xoxo

Special thanks to KP
Sabrina's cafe for A's birthday brunch.
Two orders of Goldie Locks' Breakfast in Bed Special: Cinnamon roll biscuits topped with eggs scrambled with cheddar & sage sausage-chipotle-green onion gravy. Served with a tri-potato hash with wild mushrooms, bell peppers, and parsnips.
Not too hot, not too cold, just right.
Baby, it's cold outside.
First night out with the sistas. Came home just as the first snow started to fall. More bonding with our anonymous three-word greek association tonight.Â

Limited late night options and frigid weather inspired us to cook up a new series: dorm dining. Unwilling to trudge to Fresh Grocer, we decided to bake something with our existing ingredients and our limited dorm room appliances. The result:Â our devious apple crisp.Â
Ingredients: 2 apples, apple juice, 2 packets of apples&cinnamon oatmeal, granola bar, vanilla ice creamÂ
Slice and dice apples
Microwave in apple juice for 5 minutesÂ
Drain majority of apple juice and mix in oatmealÂ
Flatten mixture and sprinkle with crushed granolaÂ
Serve hot with a scoop of vanilla ice creamÂ
Enjoy.
Back to school. Â Decided to graduate with a minor in girl flirting. Stay posted for news on rush 2012.

The word of the day is:
ne·glect [ni-glekt] to pay no attention or too little attention to; disregard or slight
We did it again. But hey, you can’t blame us. Blame our two little friends, college and midterms.
Halloweekend was good to us. Good food. Good company. Snow. The usual. B. didn’t like the weather too much:  “Say no to hypothermia”
S. came to visit Homecoming weekend. Old friends. New friends.  Football. Photoshoots. Frolicking.
Check it.

Friday we indulged in the best Thai food in Philly at Erawan but it was nothing compared to the Continental, one of Steven Starr's premier restaurants. The tapas-style dining experience offered us an opportunity to try an assortment of dishes.Â
French Onion Soup Dumplings Szechuan Shoestring Fries Chilean Sea Bass Lobster Mac n' Cheese   Thai Fish Tacos Grilled Scallops
We also had some sweets, because we're sweeties.
The master plan: visit every Steven Starr restaurant prior to graduation.Â
deuces.Â
A tribute to my New York Trip ~ just some Midwest girls taking over the Big Apple. I have been thoroughly convinced that I’ll live in NY for part of my life, hopefully with these two in a bomb flat on Mark’s. xo

Cheers to a long night of studying.
Midterms- why do you hate us so? Â
Hot apple cider to start off our wild night.
Bottoms up!
We neglected you. It was an accident though, pinkie promise. Â Midterms and such found a way to squeeze every ounce of time out of week. Â It's the "and such" that made this week worth the wait.
There are two kinds of people in the world. There are those who can handle scary movies, and those who cannot. We fall into the second category.Â
“Oh hey, let’s go to one of the scariest haunted attractions in the US!”
Yeah, not the best idea. Why would we volunteer to be scared out of our minds for an hour? -We’re not quite sure. But it was worth it.
“Why are you holding hands? It’s not going to save you.”
Oh hey. We survived. Crazy.
Friday we watched the 99% occupy Wharton, and then proceeded to go suit shopping in center city for our status reports. Â Ironic? -We think so.
Strawberry cake. If you had some, then you know. Â If you didn't, you missed out. Â Spectacular baking experience.
"Egg shells ARE in fact recycleable"
Saturday was a day of good eats. Â B. enjoyed Philly BBQ at Baby Blues and A. hit The City with the ride or dies from back home.
Ta ta for now. We won't be long. Pinkie promise.
We finally had a productive Sunday because we're B@lL3r$. Sugar waffles and a longggg walk, good shit.

J. Cole concert. Killed it. Good music with good friends~
Started off the morning promptly at 12pm with a 1,000 calorie breakfast and a stroll down locust walk. Our already unsuccessfully productive day continued when we were swept away in Jackie's jag convertible. Retail therapy and squirts of sake at Kabuki did the trick in relieving our midterm stress. Feeling revived, the self-appointed birthday committee treated Butcher 1 to gourmet spice cupcakes. Â "Oh hey, we should go to the jersey shore," was taken all too literally at one in the morning. One hour later, Atlantic City greeted us and we found our new companion Bernie.
"How did we get here?" "Oh, you stole a car." Â ~dedicated to our disoriented friend John
We brought the beach back to Butcher 1 at 4am. Last picture, self-explanatory. Â Bernie, meet Mato.
