True, and I believe “eternal oblivion” to be objectively (but probably not subjectively) true, but, as I have stated before, there is nothing, no explicit rule, prohibiting the Infinite Nothingness from rearranging atoms back again, nothing prohibiting complex systems (and perhaps the emergent behavior—the indivisible spark that is you—back from a state of nonexistence), bringing you back from a state of nonexistence. Existence would be a complete joke if you didn’t exist again somehow (albeit unaware of your re-emergence from oblivion and utterly ignorant of being [insert your name here] before). This also is what makes me extremely skeptical of mind uploading: how do we know that the subject is really transferred or simply copied? Oblivion I think is the state in between recurring existences (a black flash between death and life).

   But I digress (ViniClycPuma Gaming taught me that phrase). Even in heat death, it is likely that macroscopic events will not exist, yet the infinitesimally microscopic event of particles (read: tiny new Big Bangs) coming into existence will not stop and will continue forever. Alternatively, the Big Rip may possibly rip apart spacetime after it rips quantum foam, and then result in another inflationary event (read: new Big Bang). We are finite. And existence may truly be infinite. Despite the unfalsifiability of these hypotheses, these thoughts give me comfort regarding death: existence exists (and probably will always exist), and, nonexistence does not exist/nonexistence is impossible; existence justifies itself. (P.S.: I hypothesize (with extreme the “like before you were born” crowd probably knows
