Today marks 1 year of Splatoon 2!
Splatoon itself has been a great part of my life since its conception, and I’m really grateful for all its inspiration. Here’s to many more years of colorful fun! Stay Fresh! くコ:彡
Greetings, fellow researchers! It’s time for your monthly update that happens every…uh, month. Yes, that sounds right! The below stage and weapons will release tomorrow evening, July 31, @ 5pm PT.
Ancho-V Games (the hit developers of the addictive Squid Beatz 2) have opened up their office space once again! Inklings and Octolings should be on the lookout for a few renovations to this important location. Hopefully using their office like this won’t delay future development of their games, but it seems like a risk they’re willing to take! There are also four new weapons:
Inspired by a bathtub, the Bloblobber lobs lawful blob bombs (hardly a way to make anyone clean in our opinion). It comes with the Splash Wall to provide cover from enemy attacks and the Ink Storm special to support your teammates.
Splatling fans take note! The Nautilus 47 is the first Splatling that allows you to store your charge while swimming in ink. You can bet your tentacles that sneaky players will use this to great effect. Rounding out the kit is the Point Sensor to help spot opponents, and the Baller special that rolls deep…into enemy territory.
The Light Tetra Dualies are beauties with the same specs as the Dark Tetra Dualies but also come with Sprinklers, (for automatic turf inkage) and the Autobomb Launcher (which is always nice to push forward with).
The Custom Hydra Splatling has the same destructive force as the original, so be careful! This kit is all about defense: Ink Mines and Ink Armor are a potent defensive combination.
So all the good players stopped playing Turf War, right?
To be fair, this was pretty much the easiest Splatfest to predict
inklings: awww mannnnn we lost :(
octolings: i…cannot go on…….i have been slain..tell my family i love them…… 😵

The absolute state of Team Octo right now
I feel like a scrub for not playing Salmon Run since the Grizzco weapon rotation because I legit can’t remember the last time I had this much fun at max hazard
400 feels like nothing now
In this Salmon Run... YOU'RE THE HACKER
But seriously though, it's been months since I was motivation to get as high as 600. I'll reach 999 before the end of the night.
Then this rotation never happens again and I'm stuck at 400 as usual
Name a more unfun map
Salmon Run Tip: You don’t have to flick in a Goldie or Glowfly wave. You can one shot Cohocks and Steelheads and you can easily dominate on high tide AS LONG AS YOU DON’T FLICK PLEASE STOP BEING THE FIRST TO DIE
July 21st marks the first anniversary of Splatoon 2, and we’re celebrating with a global Splatfest! Which sea creature is your favorite, Squid or Octopus? This hotly contested Splatfest will occur from 7/20 (Fri) 9:00pm PT - 7/21 (Sat) 9:00pm PT.
To make the event more special, players on Team Squid will play as Inklings, and players on Team Octopus will play as Octolings. Even if you don’t have the Octo Expansion, if you’re reppin’ Team Octopus, you’ll play as Octolings. On the other hand, those fighting for Team Squid will play as Inklings even if their usual character is set to Octoling.
By the way, your appearance will only change during Splatfest battles. In the Square, you’ll appear as your usual rad self.
Which team will be declared the winner in this cephalopod conflict?! Will you take your time and deliberate on which team to pick? Or are you ready to declare Muck Warfare?
(Please note that the global nature of this Splatfest means Judd and Li'l Judd will need some additional time to calculate, so results will be posted 7/22.)
Make your point with this PENsive weapon. The Ballpoint Splatling is a Splatling cannon with two different firing rates! It brings exceptional flexibility to the battlefield and is quite the signature weapon. It comes with the Toxic Mist sub & Inkjet special ability. Get clicking and check it out tomorrow night (6/30) at Ammo Knights!
Putting the “bam” in “Bamboozler,” the Bamboozler 14 Mk II retains the specs of the original but adds a cool new decal. The kit comes with the Toxic Mist sub and Burst-Bomb Launcher special to slow down your foes. If this looks like a weapon you “wood” like to use. Head over to Ammo Knights tomorrow evening, 6/30!
As they say, the best defense is a good…defense. The Tenta Sorella Brella will provide plenty of protection, especially with its Splash Wall sub. Just don’t forget about the offensive punch that the Curling-Bomb Launcher provides.
