Orelsan, the multi-faceted artist

For several years, Orelsan has played an important role in French urban music. The rapper, known for his writing, has been making successful tracks. Discreet in life but incisive in his songs, Orelsan dares and denounces. He makes his return, after a long absence. To the delight of his public. His new album Civilisation has been available since November 19. The artist, originally from Caen, delivers, once again, a musical prowess.

A complete discography but especially successful albums. In 2011, Orelsan released Le chant des sirènes, certified double platinum. It includes the title La terre est ronde, a classic of the rapper. After a long absence, he signed his return in 2017 with La fête est finie. This album is a consecration, the first platinum record of Orelsan.

Orelsan, whose real name is Aurélien Cotentin, is a French rapper and composer. Born in 1982, he grew up near Alençon with his family. His first successes were born in 2008, thanks to the Internet. One year later, the one called "Orel" published his first album, Perdu d'avance. His committed lyrics are already controversial.

His solo albums are not his only successes. Orelsan and his friend Gringe formed, in 2013, the Casseurs Flowters. The group released two albums in 2013 and 2015, certified platinum records. L'odeur de l'essence, first single from the album Civilisation. There again, committed lyrics « Accidents d'bagnole, violences conjugales. L’alcool est toujours à la racine du mal ». Another good news of this album, a featuring between Gringe and Orelsan. In Casseurs Flowters Infinity, the pair meet again, the time of a track. A connection still as strong as the one-off a few years ago. On a light rhythm, the two friends sing at each chorus "Casseurs Flowters until infinity". If fans are still waiting for the return of the group, they can now enjoy this new track.

Kirikou and the sorceress

Kirikou is the main character in a film that tells the life of a child living in an imaginary African village. Tiny in size, naked and very fast, he stands out for his kindness and great intelligence that allow him to bring all kinds of benefits to the inhabitants of his village.

Kirikou and the Witch is a feature film directed by Michel Ocelot and released in 1998. The film deals with the adventures of the Kirikou child, a tiny but very intelligent boy and especially unusual in his fight against the witch Karaba. Witch Karaba, who kidnapped all the men in the village and turned them into servile fetishes, is herself originally a victim. Like some raped girls/women, Karaba forbids herself joy, carefreeness and love and sets up a barrier of hatred around her.

By becoming evil Karaba, like many rape victims, activates a (psychic) mechanism of identification with the aggressor. She has since used it to tyrannize the inhabitants of the village. Through its scripts, graphics, music and dubbing, the Kirikou film seems to be inspired as closely as possible to West African cultures.

Cannes Festival’s

The 75th Festival de Cannes will take place from 17 to 28 May 2022!

The Festival de Cannes thanks and congratulates all the producers, film distributors, filmmakers and actors as well as all the industry professionals whose works, presented in Official Selection were praised by the Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques.

All films selected are selected precisely in order to reward to its worth. Thanks to that, we can see that the cinema is truly a world with different possibilities and there is a lot of variety of films.

Feature films selected in Cannes in 2020 and 2021 represent more than 60 % of the nominations this year and 80 % of the films selected in the Best Feature Film, Best Directing, Best Actor and Best Actress categories.

Here are some example of films selected for the ceremony: Annette by Leos Carax, Best Director 2021, 10 for Aline by Valérie Lemercier, 7 for The Stronghold by Cédric Jimenez, 6 for The Divide by Catherine Corsini, 5 for Paris, 13th District by Jacques Audiard, 4 for Titane by Julia Ducournau, Palme d’or of the last edition, 4 for Onoda - 10,000 Nights in the Jungle by Arthur Harari, to name a few. Is the extension of the Parc des Princes impossible ?

               It’s one of the most debating subjects around the PSG : the extension of it’s stadium, the Parc des Princes. Since its arrival 10 years ago, in 2011, it’s one of the biggest projects of Qatar Sports Investments, and more precisely from the president of the club, Nasser al-Khelafi. This extension project came back notably with Lionel Messi’s arrival in Paris this summer. Indeed, with the infatuation provoked by Messi’s arrival, the stadium can be seen today as a too small one for a club like PSG, with all the great players the club has. So by taking this into account, we can easily understand the desires of Nasser al-Khelafi. But this extension project seems complicated to realize, especially because of one thing : the highway of Paris passes below the stadium.

Last 12 August, the Mayor of Paris said it was favorable to a project like this one, but after the Olympic Games in 2024. One of the assistants of Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, said that the attractiveness of the PSG deserves a better stadium, with more places in the stands for the spectators.

Today, there are 48 000 places in the Parc des Princes. The PSG’s president Nasser al-Khelafi wants that the extensions can allow 32 000 more places, to have 80 000 places in the stadium. But a project as big as this one seems nearly impossible, because of the problem we mentioned before. Indeed, politicians think that a project of 12 000 additional places is more possible, which can bring the total of places to 60 000.

To conclude, an extension can be possible, but not as big as the PSG’s leaders want. It’s also important to remember that a construction of a new stadium seems more unlikely. This will be interesting to follow in the next few months.

Grandma Kalle was a devoted slave and protective mother. One day her son disappeared, she was so hopeless and heartbroken that she threw herself into the violent waves of the ocean. But Grandma Kalle's grief was so intense that after her fall she transformed into a great black bird. She became a terrifying bird whose tears alerts families to misfortune. Grandmother Kalle comes to haunt the homes of the sick at night. If she laughs, death is near. If she cries, the patient has a good chance of recovery! Grandmother Kalle also comes at night to look for tevil children, and to punish them she throws them into the volcano. So look out thugs!! Furthermore, during the day grandmother Kalle lives in a house, hidden in the south of the island. Be careful and try not to walk past her house by mistake because if you have money on you she will kill you. Yes I know grandma Kalle is such a horrible witch! But above all she is the scariest witch on Reunion Island!! By the way, even today young people from Reunion like to scare themselves by playing a game associated with the legend of Grandma Kalle.
