As promised: the carpet removal pics! Probably the heaviest thing we've pulled out of the house so far. It feels like we've been trying to get the carpet out for months, and we have, we've just had desks and file cabinets to empty before we could even really get to the edges of the carpet slab. Luckily it wasn't attached to the ground in any way and didn't go all the way to the walls on any side, so it was an easier job than it could've been. We managed to get it rolled up and carried out to the other pile of carpets we've pulled out over the past 5ish years. I've been seeing mice running up these cords and into the tube for weeks now without bothering to investigate. As I was basking in the glory of a carpet-less room (!!!!!!!) (pictures coming soon) just now, I got on eye level with the tube and realized I could see some light through the other side; I figured it couldn't just lead outside but I didn't know where else it would go. I went around to the side of the house and, sure enough, the tube just comes out of the house, curves down, and is open to all the critters and cool air that want in.
