folks, this is my explanation post.
I am a huge theater kid and my current hyper fixations are Jekyll and Hyde, Frankenstein a new musical, Ragtime, Assassins, and Les Miserables. The second to last one deserves some explaining but please talk to me about all of them I love them equally
first of all, none of us like or support the real people. Murder is bad. That much is obvious. Because of this musical, we know the historical context of what happens when a person assassinates a president. It never goes well. To those worried that we are going to commit such acts, it must be remembered that the assassins were a bunch of antisocial madmen, people with nowhere to go. People who would throw away their lives by attempting to take another’s.
I am an anarchist. Anarchism is an ideology of hope more than anything else. It is an ideal that seeks to put an end to hierarchy and oppression. The society we live in is violent enough. If we respond with violence, we become like our oppressors. Leon Czolgosz, who acted on behalf of the ideal, proves how violence does not work. Because he killed the president, anarchism has received a bad name, and not recovered in the one hundred and twenty years since. To comit an act of violence for a non-violent idea is to betray that idea.
The ocs are all jokes. We made them to spoof the Hamilton kids. Again, we have a community and friends. The assassins didn’t. We aren’t going to shoot presidents. The fight club I made because I want to see Booth get his ass kicked. Check out Pat’s Assassins AUs
