My lips curl into smile, and I’m flooded with awe as I catch a glimpse of your passion
You look fulfilled, happy, I never lost faith, that someday, you would lead your own refashion,
I see you glowing, and look at you thriving
Finally putting love into your own soul, replacing endless pining.
I knew this was true love, your eyes filled with enthusiasm and devotion, and way back then, I saw how it brought you unparalleled emotion
But I did not predict, when we went our separate ways
Painfully wondering how our love became filled with disdain
I had accepted it wasn't real, and that we weren't on the same page
You can't truly love someone, when their love for you is on condition you change.
Moving on, walking forward, time had eased the pain, but never did I ever think
I'd come across your picture, and my first thought was not who to blame
I thought "That's my fucking girl" the one I always saw, even through heavy rain,
Gone my resentment, residual quiet anger, right down the drain
You looked exactly as I knew you would, once you finally saw yourself and broke the chains
Never did I think, I'd look at the joy in your face, and feel so much happiness for you, and what you've became. I could watch you embrace simple joys in life every minute of every day. It's so much more than I ever got to see, but I certainly know what to say. I was even caught of guard, at how much more beautiful you became. You're glowing, your hair, your eyes, your face. They all seem more striking, but I think that's just you at peace in finding your place.
I'm so proud of you, and I never expected to regain,
It seems some types of love are deeper, and will outlive all our shame
That our bond wasn't real...oh yes it was, because seeing you thrive is the very best part of our game. Now I come across your pictures and smile, all those old permanent feelings, just burned up flames.
This is more, this is it, I can't even begin to expain.
How much I adore seeing you like this, but from afar and away,
I just hope you know deep down, I always & forever saw you this way.
With all my love from your permanent place in my heart - and would never change it. We were bigger than all of our acts of the past. Not wise enough to know it yet then. But now healed enough to look back & value that special thing we had with fondness and feel lucky that we got to experience something ethereal like that. I’m lucky and grateful.
With love, always
Michelle
