There’s something poetic about Viktor meeting Jayce in various forms, different bodies even, while Jayce remains in the same one — same body, just more broken and aged than it should be by the end of the show.

Viktor, meanwhile, is constantly transforming: from wholly imperfectly human, to something in between, marked by runes, strengthened by metal, meeting Jayce in the body of someone he healed, as a doll, as a mage — and finally, as something unrecognizable.

And still, Jayce says: “There must be some part of you still in there.” Because while Viktor presents him with different shells, Jayce keeps searching for the soft, vulnerable soul he recognizes as his partner — And when the final shell breaks open, Viktor turns his face away — as if to shield the last fragile part of himself from being seen.
