She looks up at Xunami, her lips parted and her long dark hair framing her face where it’s spread out across the pillow and wishes fleetingly that she could capture the view somehow. Grab her phone from next to the bed and take a hundred photos of Xunami looking this good for her, because of her.
I’ve been messing around with this for a little while and it’s still pretty far from being done but posting something from it to hold myself accountable so I actually finish it.
“Speaking of new people.” Morphine changes the subject before they get trapped in another discussion about whether library girl is even into girls and whether Anetra should or shouldn’t come up with a convoluted parent trap type plan to win her over. “That girl from my course I told you all I invited should be here now.” Mirage has absolutely no idea who this girl is which might be a sign she should pay a little more attention to the group chat but come on Mh’iya and Morphine are always fake bickering and Dawn is always saying something shady and it’s a lot to keep up with.
“What did you say her name was again?” Nymphia asks, giving Mirage some hope that someone else has been paying as little attention as she has. “I didn’t but it’s, wait that’s her over there.” She proceeds to start waving so aggressively that she nearly knocks two people’s drinks out of their hands, setting Amanda and Anetra off laughing. Mirage is about to say something about how this girl had better be either the funniest or the hottest bitch any of them have ever met to be worth that level of reaction when she feels a warm hand gently brush her arm and turns her head to see the most beautiful girl she’s ever seen.
She’s taller than any of them which ok isn’t super surprising for like Dawn or Morphine but her and Anetra are both pretty tall and Mirage thinks the top of her head would only reach this girl’s mouth. She’s wearing a purple off the shoulder top and she honestly looks like a mermaid or something with the way her long dark, wavy hair pours down over her shoulders. Mirage isn’t sure she’s ever really thought much about a girl’s shoulders before but fuck she’s making up for it now.
Not a sunday ask, just my attempt at levity while I think of what to wear tonight: tell me what outfit do you wear to feel powerful, like you can kick ass and take names ✨
Oooh fun!
So the answer to this question is lots of black and definitely my doc martens which have the benefit of making me feel able to stomp on anyone I need to.
I don’t have it anymore but I used to have a black leather jacket which made me feel like the coolest person alive so that would definitely be in there too.
yesterday was book day (and in catalonia it was rose day which i love bc it's traditional to give books and roses among significant others), so tell me something about a book you love and/or what's your favorite flower 😊
Oops I have been very inactive on here.
This is a very lovely question so I’m going to answer both parts.
A book I love is Life After Life by Kate Atkinson and the first thing I will say is that you should absolutely read it but the main fact is that there is now a TV series (which I haven’t seen) that Joe Black appears in!
My favourite flowers are tulips because I have always thought that the petals look like the softest richest things and they have the most beautiful versions of red and yellow and orange and purple.
TaycexTia (obviously) and then for a completely random prompt: fear of balloons
this was a fun one to write! i went back and forth between a few different ideas for this one before finally settling on this, but it’s only slightly related to the prompt sorry. hope you like it anyway!! 🥰
“Morning, babe,” Tayce chorused cheerfully, kicking open the door to the living room. “I’m back, and I brought coff- what the fuck is going on?”
Tia, sitting on the floor surrounded by seemingly hundreds of notecards, turned to her and her face brightened.
“Oh! Perfect timing. Can you help me with this?”
“With- what?” Tayce placed the two coffee cups down on the table and squinted down at the cards. “Name the tenth element of the periodic table- are you studying for something? You know you’ve been out of school for like, five years now, right?”
“It’s nothing to do with school,” Tia shuffled a couple of notecards around. “I’m… well.” She looked up at Tayce, suddenly slightly self-conscious. “Don’t laugh. You have to promise.”
“I promise. Unless it’s really funny.”
“Tayce!”
“Fine, fine, I promise,” Tayce flopped down on the ground next to Tia and nudged her gently. “I was just kidding around. What’s up?”
Tia glanced down at her notecards, then took Tayce’s hand. “I’m auditioning for Mastermind!”
Tia seemed so gleeful and giddy at the prospect that Tayce grinned along. Then she paused.
“Wait, the quiz show?”
“Yeah!” Tia nodded. “So I’ve been brushing up on my knowledge in case I get past the first few rounds of auditions. Isn’t it cool?”
Cool wasn’t the word Tayce would use to describe a quiz show, but her girlfriend was adorable when she was excited about something nerdy, so she smiled and clapped her on the back.
“Very cool, baby.”
Tia grinned back, then darted her eyes downwards. “So…”
“So… what?”
“Will you test me?” Tia asked, pushing a handful of notecards towards her. “Please?”
Tayce took the notecards and scanned her eyes over the top one.
“Globophobia is the fear of what?”
“Balloons,” Tia answered promptly, and Tayce raised her eyebrows.
“Huh, you’re right. Didn’t know that it had a name. Did you know that before you made these flashcards or did you learn it specifically for this?”
“Oh, I did know that before.” Tayce stared at her for a few seconds.
“How the fuck did you know that?”
“I like linguistics,” Tia said brightly, because of course she did. Tayce rolled her eyes bemusedly.
“You’re such a nerd. But in a hot way.”
“How can being a nerd be hot?” Tia wrinkled her nose slightly, and Tayce laughed.
“Y’know, you’ve got those glasses which you never wear unless you’re doing something geeky, and you’re showing off that big brain of yours, it’s all a bit sexy scientist.”
Tia hid her laughter behind her hand. “I’m not incorporating a lab coat into our bedroom activities, Tayce.”
“The nerve, the audacity and the presumption,” Tayce huffed melodramatically. “You’re supposed to be the nice one.”
“Whatever,” Tia playfully pushed Tayce’s arm. “C’mon, more questions.” Tayce flicked through the notecards.
“What’s your specialist subject then, all phobias?”
“No, it’s the Matt Smith era of Doctor Who.”
“Of course it is,” Tayce groaned, although her eyes were twinkling with humour. “Okay, next question. What fruit has the scientific name mangifera indica?”
Tia paused. “Is it mango?”
“It is!” Tayce said, grinning. Tia celebrated with a quiet yes! and a mimed fist-pump.
“This is kinda fun,” Tayce remarked, leaning back on one arm. “Imagine if we’d been at school together, we could have done this all the time.”
“It’s flattering that you think we would’ve been friends at school,” Tia snorted. “I wasn’t exactly cool, y’know.”
“We could’ve had an opposites attract thing going on,” Tayce countered. “You’d be the teacher’s pet, and I’d be the bad girl you have to tutor.” She wiggled her eyebrows suggestively, but Tia pursed her lips skeptically.
“You’re testing me though, not the other way around.”
“Yeah, but it’s not like you’re a bad girl, Tia. You’re a goody-two-shoes who’d cry over a detention.” Tia looked slightly affronted.
“I could be a bad girl!”
“I’ll believe it when I see it, chooky. Besides,” Tayce smirked, “I thought you liked it when I called you a good girl.”
“Tayce!” Tia’s eyes widened and her face flushed tomato red. Tayce practically cackled with laughter.
“You’re so easy to tease, babe.”
“Well… maybe I am,” Tia conceded. “But still. And stop distracting me!”
“Fine, fine,” Tayce said, laughing. “Next question then- oh, this is one of your nerd show ones. In The Eleventh Hour, the Doctor tries several food items for the first time in his new regeneration. What food did he throw out the front door?”
“Bread and butter.” The answer came almost as soon as Tayce had finished the question and she grinned.
“You’ve got it.”
“Course I do,” Tia shrugged mock-nonchalantly. “I’m good at this, me.” Tayce chuckled.
“Alright, missy, reign your ego in.” Her expression turned softer as she nudged Tia with her knee. “You really are smart, babe.”
“I’m not,” Tia mumbled slightly, blushing. Tayce grabbed her hand dramatically.
“Yeah you are! You’re so smart. And funny. And kind, and pretty, and cute and fucking hot, and-”
“Alright, alright,” Tia groaned, although she couldn’t hide her pleased smile, nor the way her blush grew. She squeezed Tayce’s hand and gave her a sideways glance. “You are too. All of those things, I mean. You’re amazing.”
“You’re gonna make me kiss you,” Tayce teased and Tia tilted her head.
“I’m not stopping you.”
“Weren’t you just telling me off for distracting you from these?” Tayce waved a notecard in Tia’s direction, who shrugged.
“Maybe it can wait a minute or two. The cards aren’t going anywhere.”
“That’s my girl,” grinned Tayce, and she leaned in for a kiss.
