This may be an unusual question, but I noticed you had the exact red hair in a few of your pictures that I literally just dyed my hair. My only problem is that I have never had such rich red hair & was wondering what you wore for MAKEUP with such a bold hair color. Do you have any tips? Hello there! Though I haven’t had red hair in years (and I miss it so much), I can still answer your questions!
As far as make up goes, I loved to wear solid, black winged eyeliner. The boldness of the wings really goes with the striking hair color.
And of course, you can never go wrong with red lipstick with red hair. Just be sure to pick your red lipstick based on your skintone. You don’t need the lipstick to match your exact hair color, any shade of red will do. If you are pale like me, too bright of red can look strange and almost tacky so I would choose a shade slightly darker than my red hair.
Light eyebrows can look a bit strange with red hair so if you have light eyebrows (like I did as a natural blonde), get red eyeshadow and use a thin make up brush to color your eyebrows in and make it look like you dyed your eyebrows as well. Another option is simply darkening your eyebrows with a dark brown eyeliner pencil.
I didn’t do any contouring back then and I still don’t wear blush so you may need to ask another redhead’s opinion for those domains.
And as an extra tip, wear lots of blue! Blue looks amazing with this shade of red hair, especially light blue. Other colors work well too except for green. Green outfits with red hair might make you look like you’re getting ready for Christmas a little early.
