Onew's Incident...Chill Ya’ll

I’m probably gonna lose followers for this but…some of ya’ll need to chill the hell out about Onew’s incident. 

Okay, I get that some of you are mad or upset or even disappointed. I get that I truly do. But for the love of God you guys need to remember he is HUMAN. Mistakes happen. Accidents happen. He’s human. He’s an idol. He is allowed to make mistakes, especially if he has been kept on SM’s leash for damn near 13 years if not longer.  

However! NO. This does not give ANYONE the right to use drunkenness as an excuse for sexual harassment. And I do truly hope that all parties involved are okay.

However, it was unintentional. AND he apologized for it. AND he is not running away or fluffing the situation. If anything he is manning the fuck up about it. He is trying to make the victim feel comfortable, heard, and valid by going through the investigations and cooperating. No, I’m not making excuses for Onew, I’m just stating facts and observations.  

And another note. So what if he said he wasn’t drinking anymore? He’s allowed to change his damn mind. And please think about this logically - I understand to some people its hard to think about how many drinks it would take for someone to get that smashed to forget what was happening around them. BUT IF YOU’RE A LIGHTWEIGHT DRINKER, ALL BETS ARE PRETTY MUCH OFF. Some lightweight drinkers get smashed after MAYBE four drinks (based off personal friend’s experience) We don’t know how much or how well Onew can TRULY hold his liquor - especially if he supposedly hadn’t been drinking for awhile. He just may be lightweight-ish as of right now. 

As for Shawols and Kpop fans in general, don’t get into fights, don’t create drama, DON’T FLOOD HIS SOCIAL MEDIA, and don’t ask the SHINee members about it either! Onew has enough to deal with as is. 

All I’m asking is that for those who stan Onew and SHINee to please keep supporting them through this, AND FOR EVERYONE TO BE OPEN FUCKING MINDED. 

Don’t ya’ll dare cast the first stone unless you’re ready to be judged too.

All right ya know what? I’m feeling really sick to my stomach while I’m on this website right now so I’m putting out my own thoughts about this whole thing.

In the initial release of this incident, the Korean media immediately released this as sexual assault, when 1. Charges were not filed and 2. The woman was not sexually assaulted.

Did she have the right to feel violated? Absolutely!! A random man touching your leg in the club? I think anyone would feel uncomfortable.

However, she dropped charges on the incident because she was understanding enough to realize that he was so drunk that Jinki mistook her leg for a rail (and even when he did realize that the rail was a leg, he managed to apologize in his drunken state).

Like I said, though, the Korean media saw right away that they can get a good profit from saying things like “SHINee’s Onew Charged with Sexual Assault!!!” so of course I understand all of you initially in shock and not wanting anyone to back up Onew. However, what I do not understand is anyone who dropped Jinki and/or SHINee immediately without more information. Innocent until proven guilty. Is that a statement familiar to you? On the other hand, I can’t understand anyone who would come to Jinki’s defense immediately without more information, as you have no idea what he could have done; just because he’s “cute and precious dubu leader!!!!!“ doesn’t mean anything when talking about real life.

But NOW that everything is out in the open, I’m genuinely feeling sick over the fact that people are still falsely accusing Jinki of sexual assault, and even dropping Jinki/SHINee. Everything is out in the open now. The facts are all there. He did not sexually assault her. Charges were never filed. The girl was understanding and knew his intentions were never bad. However, if you are so drunk that you make a girl uncomfortable and nearly get charged with sexual assault, this has to be a wake up call to you and your drinking.

TL;DR: I understand people’s initial reactions with the first couple articles before more information is known, but now that all of the facts are out there, stop falsely accusing Jinki and trash-talking him for something that was a misunderstanding. However, Jinki also needs to straighten himself out if he drinks to the point of nearly blacking out and almost getting a sexual assault case charged against him.
