Jack was honestly very glad that Jamie tore the too-damn-warm blanket from between them and tossed it aside; his front still burned, but at least he could cool off now. He let out a sort of watery laugh as Jamie practically tackled him; the kid was certainly bigger than him now.
“C’mon, Jamie, it’s not just your fault. Time…got away from me.” He pulled away from the teen, looking him dead in the eye. “And I won’t let that happen again. I promised I’d be there for you, and I will.”
With that, he raised a brow at the teen. “So…a gang, huh?”
In fact, he was at least three inches taller; and an awful lot stronger. He’d been working out, that much was a lot more obvious now, with the strong, unknowingly tight grip that the teen had Jack in.
Jamie’s eyes were filled with tears, as he tried to calm down. He looked at the spirit as he spoke, but refused to let him go. “…R-right… I-I still shouldn’t have stopped…”
His body visibly tensed. “…A-ah… Can we talk about it later…?”
Jack hadn’t minded the tight grip for the first few moments, but it soon became apparent that he couldn’t withstand it forever. “Jamie, I love you, but you’re crushing me,” he muttered, squirming slightly so he could breathe freely again. It sort of worked, but the teen still wouldn’t entirely let him go. That was fine with the Guardian; he was just glad they could hug.
Jack frowned slightly; he understood Jamie’s reluctance, but… “What’s ‘later’, though? I’m gonna make you go to sleep soon, it’s late.” He sighed, and ruffled Jamie’s hair, if only to irk him. “Fine, though. Topic change. How’s Sophie doing?”
"O-oh, sorry!" He quickly let him go. "You okay...?" He seemed nervous suddenly. Maybe it was just because it was finally setting in that Jack was really there.
"Maybe later tonight, if I get the courage... Besides, I have Insomnia, I can't sleep without my pills, so I'm not sleeping until I want to." He said matter-of-factly. When he ruffled his hair, he huffed, and shook his hair back into place. "...She's good. She won't talk to me though... She talks more to her pet rabbit than me..."
