it’s so deeply rude that all the meds you have to take to try to have a baby give you first trimester symptoms. like why am I profoundly nauseous, headachey, and exhausted right now. bc meds

ok he’s down for a nap and I’m done with tutoring. this headache is rapidly becoming pretty bad yikes so gonna try to sleep for two hours… pray that he stays down that long

gosh i was sooooo stuck with this one kid... spent an hour last night and almost two hours this morning before our meeting trying to figure out what to do with his essay... but WE DID IT i think i just need to trust the process with kid like it's going to feel impossible but we will get there just by asking lots and lots of questions. this introspection does not come super easily to him but he's also refreshingly game to try which i appreciate! that is not always true about the kids who don't like to reflect or write. mm ok i have a pounding headache and one hourlong meeting to go but then i can collapse into bed and hopefully nap again while the baby naps... soooo weary. thank god this week is reasonably chill... i am going to make my list of things that must get done at work and then once those things are done my time is my own

he used to not be able to speak and now he says things to his babysitter like “I buy these flowers at the farmer’s market” and “ruthie go poopoo on the carpet. it’s yucky!”

do NOT quote me on this but so far—second job work is going well and seems like it might not be as demanding as I was expecting. three kids and none of them are very confident writers but fortunately they have an extremely confident editor & project manager in me lol and I’m doing a better job than usual at quickly herding them towards their long essay topics. pray for me that I can hustle them through this at a reasonable clip (while also still helping them produce good writing!!)

Ok, Have you in real life ever seen a bathroom that had its light switch Outside of the bathroom. Not like one of those fancy giant bathrooms where the toilet is in its own little room, but a normal sized bathroom where you could be in there doing your thing and someone Outside could just turn the light off on you?

having a toddler is such a wild ride lol they’re the chattiest, goofiest, snuggliest, most delightful little people on the planet. and also sometimes they take off their pants and climb up on the kitchen table midway through dinner in order to IMMEDIATELY pee all over it and then when you lunge towards them to try to get them OFF THE TABLE they fling their little bodies over the edge and somehow manage to wind up stuck upside down between the table and the kitchen bench shrieking at the top of their lungs. still no pants on. covered in pee.

omg im soooooo close to being done for the day i only have one 45 min meeting left!!!!! then i can go collect my hilarious little child and take him over to our friends' house so he can ride his new big boy bike!!
