Over the last two years it’s been really hard to live in the moment. I’ve missed a lot of weddings and birthday parties because I’ve been working. I wanted to have a big 30th birthday party, but by the time it came around I was so tired, I didn’t have the energy to do anything. Instead I sat at home with Blake. I made my own cake from a box mix. We had four candles we found in the junk drawer. I lit ‘em and said, ‘It’s my birthday. Somebody has to sing to me.’ Blake got the dogs together and said, ‘C'mon, dogs. It’s Mom’s birthday. Let’s sing to her.’
