Hi Kristel! My sister and I are going to HK this coming Holy Week. Can you suggest places to visit, eat, what to wear, and tips for wanderers?
I heard that it’s still pretty cold there so bring warm clothes! The places that you can go to really depends on your interests. Most of first timers go to Disneyland, Ocean Park, Avenue of Stars, Ngong Ping (for the cable car), etc.! There are just so many places to recommend! Hahhaha. Since it’s also cold in there, it’s the perfect weather to ride a tram! It’s cheap and cute haha.
For the food well I recommend you to try the street food, the noodles especially the cheesy noodles behind Mira Mall. I think its name is Sun Kee? It’s a pretty famous place, you can google it! You can backread on my instagram if you want to see all the food that I already tried! Hehe.
For tips, I guess I have to say is just always read signages. Haha. Hong Kong is such a tourist-friendly place so it’s less likely you’re going to get lost. No need for tourist guides! Another is to try to learn the basic cantonese phrases because most of the Chinese people ignore tourists who ask in English. It’s also a plus if you’re going to Mong Kok or any markets to buy stuff!
If you have more questions you can tumblr ask me unanonymously so we can talk properly haha! Have fun! <3
PS: I didn't open my tumblr for a long time so if this answer is long overdue I'm so sorry!!!! T_T
Taking a break from all the food posts. Hahaha! One of my favorite photos that I took from #TEICSYAA2015. Hello if you are the person in the photo haha! Congrats to all the winners! 😄 #portrait
The Last Days of 2014 || PHOTODUMP
12/26 - My mother and brother arrived! It's been a while since we had lunch together so I can't resist a selfie hahaha. This was like our 2nd noche buena so my father cooked crispy pata because my family loves putok batok food. Hahahaha.
This day was full of dancing(yep we danced randomly together lol) catching up and pasalubongs. :)
12/27- Went out with my siblings, cousin and his girlfriend. My brother got a haircut while us remaining roamed around landmark to buy some appliances/cookware that will be used to prepare the food for one of my titas' birthday celebration the next day. Then, we ate pizza and pasta. I was able to buy new heels from Charles and Keith too!
12/28/30- Visited my lola at the cemetery. Also made friends with 2 old women and a cute, little girl. :)
12/29 - Watched English Only, Please with all the girls plus kuya. I really liked the movie! It was funny, super nakakakilig and super dami hugot LOL. It was my first time to find Derek Ramsay handsome!!!!
12/30 to 12/31 afternoon lol- Tita Baby's (one in blue top) birthday/family reunion! This doesn't happen yearly like other family reunions so I'm happy that we were (kind of complete) that day! I only have few photos from the reunion (and they are all candid) because I was sort of the photographer (hence the SLR photos haha). Was also able to meet one of my cousins' German boyfriend and it's cute to see him and his friend try to mingle with us. Hahaha.
We (cousins and siblings) stayed up until 4 am and talked about anything. I also sang my heart out I feel like I sang 50+ songs non-stop. Hahahahha. It was kind of funny when the next day while having breakfast the Germans asked us if our throats got sore from all the singing and I was like "Uhhh actually that was just me and my sister" hahahahhaha. But really, my sister had to wait for me to finish at least 5 songs for her turn hahahahhaha.
Then after breakfast we sang again. Hahahhahahahhaa.
Tea and Colorful Cups
Added some grainy effect because it makes the photos look vintage and I like it that way.
12/25/2014||Merry Christmas everyone!
Only have few, low-quality photos because I was too busy taking videos.
The Noche Buena is just like every year. Got only a few presents but I'm still happy about it. :)
Some relatives visited this morning and I think that's another thing that makes every Christmas more fun.
A christmas vlog will be up soon! I didn't realize that this will be a 3-day celebration since my mama and kuya, I assume, are still on their way here in the Philippines and their goddaughters and godsons will visit tomorrow. Hopefully my footages are enough to compensate to my lack of pictures!!
I thank the Lord because this day won't be special if He wasn't born and very willingly died for my sins. :)
Hope you guys also had fun with your family! Merry Christmas again y'all! :)
Finally finished editing this vlog on my little brother's field trip. :) It was a fun experience! My first to come to a field trip as a chaperone... I feel old hahaha. Just FYI, my little brother is a special child in case you are wondering. Seeing him having fun is really a precious moment. Love him to bits and pieces.

I will never get tired of taking photos of nature.
To be honest, I really want some self-portraits because of my current scarcity of potential facebook profile pictures (lol) but my sister is not that knowledgeable in using my camera. I'm usually not in the mood to pose and have my sister run to me just so I can have a look on the LCD screen and adjust the settings. Excuses, excuses. Hahaha.
It's surprising that I almost do everything out of habit. A routine that is so hard to break; I don't even notice I've been doing something for years.
And then there are some things that I surprisingly just stop doing. I don't know when and how but one day, I just suddenly realize and ask myself, "Why am I not doing this anymore?". With hopes that reminding myself will make me do it again.
It's ironic how I do things that I want to stop doing and can't start doing things that I really like.
NOVEMBER 2014: Some Lessons and Realizations
When I worked part-time and finally experienced the tiresome hours firsthand, I realized how hard it is to earn money. Last summer, my mother and I worked in the same place; so I’ve seen how busy my mother gets and how hard she works just to get the money to pay my tuition fee and provide everything that my family needed. Same with my father. So that summer, I promised to myself that I will try to never EVER fail in school and will even try to excel. To even add to my guilt, they finally decided for my sister and I to live in a dormitory near UST this semester which means MORE EXPENSES for my parents and my big brother who helps pay the bills. So in short, I CAN’T FAIL ANY SUBJECT.
But unfortunately, I had a problem with a certain subject and ended up having a failing grade, which up until now I don’t think I deserve because of a lot of factors that I can’t mention (I don’t think that’s something that should be talked about here. Haha) A lot of my friends and even my family always mention this statement – Grades are just numbers. It doesn’t define you. Sure, grades aren’t everything, but it DOES mean SOMETHING. And after almost experiencing it, I can tell you; FAILING A SUBJECT WILL NOT ONLY AFFECT YOUR ACADEMIC LIFE (or whatsoever you call it). Personally, it affected my self-esteem. I started to doubt myself. Thinking that I’m not good enough, I started comparing myself to others, I pitied myself. IT’S NOT EASY. If you haven’t failed any subject then you won’t understand. You know what people say, you won’t know how much it hurts until you, yourself have experienced it. In case you still don’t know what happened uhm, yeah, I passed the subject (I won’t go into details how that happened, what is important is that yes I passed be happy for me yay). But let me break down all my realizations having experienced it:
YOU WON’T KNOW WHO YOUR TRUE FRIENDS ARE UNTIL YOU GET INTO A BAD SITUATION. Learned this the hard way, I guess. You had the greatest and happiest time of your life with this group of people? NOPE, THAT DOESN’T MEAN THEY’RE GONNA BE THERE FOR YOU WHEN YOU NEED THEM. You are going to be surprised how many do not care with what you’re going through as long as they’re okay, and how the people who you don’t even hang out with a lot but were there when you needed someone to comfort you. The experience has taught me who to trust and who not to. You are going to encounter people who will ask how you’re doing just because they want to know and they want something to talk about with their own group of friends, not because they are concerned. Of course they are going to throw some “It’s okay”s and “I’m here for you”s but trust me, all they think about is themselves and their other friends. I think the worst part of it is that you actually care for these people who you thought are your true friends, then you just come to realize that they won’t do what you are willing to do for them. Of course you’re going to miss hanging out with them and all the good times, but you know it’s not going to be the same again. Because you know what, I’d rather have boring days with a person as long as he/she’s going to stick with me through thick and thin than expect something from someone who’s actually temporary. Bottomline? Let’s just say know who to promote to the “I’m going to be your friend the rest of your life” category and who to demote from great friends to casual friends category.
ALWAYS BE TRANSPARENT TO YOUR FAMILY WITH WHAT’S HAPPENING. I do have awesome friends but no one understands you more than your family. When I first told my parents, they were devastated. Understand that of course they will be--everyone has their expectations and it will hurt if those won’t be met. It’s inevitable. Just give them time to understand and in the end they will even be the first to help you move on and help you believe in yourself again. Just endure all the sermons and don’t mind all the hurtful words too much. You know what anger does to people. Hehe. So when your parents or anyone from your family asks you how you are doing, remember that “I’m okay” isn’t enough. Spill everything and you’ll be surprised with the lessons you can get from them.
And lastly, for me, PRAYING helped the most. There are moments in your life when even you, yourself don’t understand why bad things are happening. During these moments I pray to God that whatever happens I know there is a reason and I will someday see it, and I ask Him to give me the strength to overcome all the bumps I’m going through with my life. I’m not perfect—I make mistakes right here and there, and I’m really scared when I talk about stuff like this because I know people will judge me (I.E. I just heard her trashtalking someone and now she’s talking about praying lulz). But I just need to get this out—I DO PRAY, and I think everyone must know that no matter how sinful you think you are, you can pray and know that God loves you. You shouldn’t be made fun for that. No one should be made fun of because of praying or having a relationship with God. We are all works in progress, and we have our own paces; what matters is that I try.
Life will always offer something better or worse, but know that either way, we are always blessed to learn its best lessons. :)
"Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." (Psalm 37:4)
This is the verse that I always get asked to put but it never tires me because it’s a truth that I always cling on to as well! When you delight in the Lord, your desires are more attuned to what He desires for you and what father doesn’t want to give the best for His child? :) Such a hopeful and promising verse!
This is a personalized artwork for a sweet girl named Kim! It’s based on her actual photo taken in front of the Angkor Wat in Cambodia. If you’re interested in having your own artwork made, please send an email at [email protected] :)
Needing this right now.
"There's no such thing as a completely fresh start. Everything new arrives on the heels of something old, and every beginning comes at the cost of an ending." --The Geography of You and Me
Lately, not a day has passed without me being negative with everything. I keep on pitying myself and thinking why am I not like this or that; or wishing I'm like this instead of that. I don't know how this started, I don't know how to stay positive, but I swear to God--I want this to stop.
9/14/14 Sunday
We went to UP Town Center to celebrate my cousin John Mark's birthday. We ate at Torch, but I'm not going to talk about it because I'm kinda disappointed with the food. Hehe.
I'm happy that my cousin actually found a time to hang out with us though, so I guess that's what matters most to me. :)
