Constantly trying to figure out the social rules while learning to be myself ✨.
My son is at the age where he can read on his own and genuinely enjoy the stories he reads. Sharing books together has been so much fun 🥰.
A few panels from my latest book MY PERFECTLY IMPERFECT BODY .

Amplifying my emotions, especially my excitement and sociability, came up a lot during my autism assessment. That’s when I realised I’ve been masking for most of my life without even noticing. Since then, I’ve been unpacking things from my childhood when I was growing up, trying to see them from a new perspective.
My social battery doesn’t last very long 😅. This comic is from my first book, Quiet Girl in a Noisy World (published in 2017), and it was one of the first introversion comics I shared on my blog. I can’t believe I’ve been making comics for this long!
Still a homebody, just with the right friends ✨.

After all these years, I’m still bad at small talk 🙈.

I’m excited to share that “My Perfectly Imperfect Body” has received a GNCRT Outstanding Comic Honor in the Young Adult Non-Fiction category from the American Library Association American Library Association !
Hearing how this book is resonating with young people means everything to me. Thank you so much to the Graphic Novels & Comics Round Table committee for this meaningful recognition ❤️.

Hope everyone is having a lovely New Year so far. I read 72 books this past year, which is the most I’ve read since I started keeping a yearly reading log! Excited for another year of reading. My son and I have signed up at our local library, and one of my goals is to visit it more often 📚✨.
Some sketchbook stuff ✨.
I first made this comic in 2018. It was the first time I felt brave enough to share my story about body image and my experiences with disordered eating as a teen. Seven years later, my new book MY PERFECTLY IMPERFECT BODY is now out in the world, and it’s one of the most personal and vulnerable things I’ve chosen to share 💛.
Here is part 2/2 of the little backstory behind my recent autism diagnosis.
A little more backstory behind my recent autism diagnosis. This is part 1 of 2.
I’m finishing up a few more panels and will post the rest soon!
