Parks, gardens, and beaches in Vancity
Enjoy Vancouver’s great outdoors by exploring our stunning parks, gardens, and beaches.
1. Stanley Park
Larger then Central Park in NYC, this local park has so much to offer. Totem poles from local tribes with a story about each. You can also hike, bike, walk, stroll, meander… whatever you want!!!!
Many of the hop on off buses will offer this as a drop off point. Enjoy the views of the beautiful city of Vancouver. There are places to eat and washrooms throughout the park. You may also catch some wild life. We saw a sea otter, eagle and other birds.
Bike rental from$5 per hour.
2. Queen Elizabeth Park
It’s fantastic to have such excellent green spaces so close to the city. Hop on a Skytrain from Downtown and it won’t be long til you get here. Includes the bird sanctuary, which is also worth a visit, and combines excellent views of the city, sea and mountains.
3. Deep cove
The spot to be in North Vancouver! You can come to relax, go for a kayak, sail or paddle board or just walk to the village for some amazing food or coffee. Quarry Rock is a must as well.

4. Deer lake
There is a trail which goes all the way around the lake and is fairly flat. There are some trails which go up the hill as well, and have a great view back down at the lake. There is canoe and boat rentals. Also, there is a small play area with swings. Keep an eye out for turtles sunning on logs near the shore. There is a variety of birds. From the trails up the hill there are good views of the North shore mountains. You can’t see the sun actually set, but the colours are still good. There are some spots with benches where you can sit.
