My favourite figure in Udine
Rijeka fruit & vegetable market (there is also a marvellous fish market, the freshness of what’s on sale there is exhilarating, a sea of glistening, bright, silver & heaped pinkish orange yabbies (langoustines, if you didn’t spend your childhood in Australia catching them with jam jars dangled on strings)

The doorway of the Jacquart champagne house, Reims, is meant to represent a barrel. It is flanked by mosaic pictures showing stages in the champagne making process
Worcester Cathedral ~
I love it when on a hot summer day the west door of the cathedral is opened and a cooling breeze from the river below wafts through. The beautiful great west window depicts The Creation and was largely designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott and was part of the Victorian renovations of the cathedral in 1874….however the present cathedral was built between 1084 and1504 and represents every style of English architecture from Norman to Perpendicular Gothic.
