and his lovely pet, rosette as well! both of them turn eight years old today! first released on march 27, 2018.

his originating game, cookie run: ovenbreak, was far different at his release than it is today, and yet only in this modern era of ovenbreak is where he truly shined (both meta and story wise)! his buff and costume in 2024 truly made him a staple in many modes, and even after several SEVERAL updates of newer cookies as well as buffs for other existing cookies, you can still see him in meta breakout combis to this day.

of course ignoring the meta, also only very recently did he get actual story involvement in dessert paradise 1 (2023) and dessert paradise 2 (2024)... something i truly wouldn't have expected him to actually get outside of fan content. im still so grateful for that. and now, even if he doesn't get anything else in the future, i am very content with the direction devsisters took with him.

its been a good couple of years for the guy, and hopefully he'll prosper more in the coming years as well <3

seeing this post getting some traction again and I think this is a good opportunity to showcase a variant of this cutscene devsis seems to have made prior to the update's release

the reflection here is different, where it just mirrors black sugar swan normally.

the reasoning (obviously) seems to be they didn't want to spoil the reveal of black sugar swan being black sugar duck before the update's release

#i wonder if we'll ever get the full art of this someday... though a quick editing job will do the same trick lol #i miss dessert paradise man

thank you so much, that means a lot to me!! ^_^ i’ve been a fan of him since release so a blog of this sort was inevitable LOL (although it did take me a while until i got ahold of this url specifically…)

regarding your questions:

no, his appearances in the braverse cards does not confirm his inclusion in the other games, at least for now. in current, he has no ties in kingdom, and in witches castles, only his theme was remixed for what i can assume to be… a cutscene background music. nothing too explicit as of yet

yes! he does have official merch! although a lot of it has been lost to time due to how limited they are. unfortunately none of them are very interesting merch (such as plushies / etc), the most recent merch as of now has been a keychain + a sticker as part of the peril in paradise update’s merch in 2024. as it stands, it’s limited but sometimes they can be available again in the marpple shop!
