Some of the more tender moments of my life, captured on my phone and almost forgotten. I think that the photos that hit the most deeply aren’t the ones that I share to Instagram, or the ones that are the most grand or aesthetically pleasing. They’re usually the ones that flash a little quieter - the ones that were taken during a lull; the ones that involved a modest struggle of some sort. A pause before the smiles and big action. A climber untangling rope while I inspect a frond of yarrow / a car ride back from the raucous festivities of the rodeo / two water breaks at work / the last stubborn fire weed of the summer season.
