like i was digging the darker themes and how well they were handled like jack’s ptsd and his moral struggle over killing actual people yknow? and ashi was an interesting character and i liked how she and jack interacted and went from enemies to a father-daughter type relationship! the series still kept its gorgeous visual style, beautiful soundtrack, and fun lighter moments despite the transition to a more adult rating which is a rare sight!

but then jack got magically cured of his ptsd and just went back to normal then all that awkward forced romantic/sexual tension with ashi was super gross and like??? they hyped up the scotsman and his daughters and all the other various throwbacks for the final battle when it was super underwhelming and ashi got killed off for man pain (ashi just got horrible treatment by the narrative overall) and goddddd im still upset over this bc samurai jack deserved better
