I didn't steal shit from you... (averybadpup)
âJesus Christ, Tommy. What happened now?â Sam ran a hand over his salt and pepper hair, a sigh leaving his mouth.
@bitch-beyond-a-bite
âYou gotta point.â
@faeriequeensook
Hugging @faeriequeensook from behind. âYou feel like grabbinâ some food?â
I'd love to, @whiskeyshifts. *She smiled.* But please, let's not eat here.
âCouldnât think of a better plan, cher. Maybe we can head out to New Orleans? That sound good?â
@faeriequeensook
*Her eyes glistened.* Wow, New Orleans? I've never been there, Sam. You're gonna spoil me. You know I'm not that special. Ya don't have to take me there. That's just fancy. *She loved when he called her Cher. She felt extremely special when he did.* When would you like to go, Sam? And who is going to watch the bar?
He grinned warmly, letting the wrinkles around his tanned face show genuine affection for that moment. Sam always cared for Sookie and he finally felt like something was pieced together after all these years. âTonight, now? We can head out now. My jeep has a tank of gas and nothing but time on its hands. I already asked Arlene to keep an eye out.â He nudged her playfully, squeezing her shoulder. âWhat do ya say? Live a little, sweetheart.â @faeriequeensook

âHey, you.â ( @faeriequeensook ) Sam moved swiftly across the bar as he held a bottle of Jack Danielâs. âI gotta question for ya, darlinâ. You got a minute?â
*Sook turned to Sam as she dropped off a pitcher of beer to Jason. Smiling at Sam she smiled. Her ponytail bounced as she popped up on her sneakers.* Sure Sam what's up? *She made her way to the bar.* Whatcha need?
Sam rubbed the back of his neck carefully, putting the bottle of Jack down after pouring a couple of shots for Arleneâs table. He knew time was running short for them as Bill Compton started to come around more. He wasnât anything special, just plain old Sam. âYou doing anything tonight?â
*In watching Sam, she waited patiently. He was in contemplation about what to say to her.* You alright, Sam? *It was right then he asked her if she was doing anything this evening. She saw Tara from behind Sam and she made her silent comments about how he liked her.* No I'm not. Well, Bill was gonna meet me. But that doesn't matter. Did ya need me to work late? I can stay if you need me.
It was a shame she didnât read his mind right now. It would make this process much easier if she did.. though Sam understood why not, it was definitely a burden hearing thoughts she never asked to listen to all day. âYou wanna accompany me to the Defendantâs of the Glorious Dead meeting tonight?â
Ya look nervous, Sam. Well out with it. *She teased.* There was definitely something on his mind and Tara was being Tara and pushing her way into the conversation the best way she could by being silent. Which was funny as this was something impossible for her.
She had heard over and over from Tara how much Sam liked her. In fact how much he was in love with her. Sook didn't believe it because Sam was her boss. Not that it wasn't possible. But he'd never put forth the effort. When she did accidentally listen in on his thoughts they were more fuzzy than others. The Faery couldn't quite couldn't put her finger on it.*
A shy smile crossed her lips as her head tilted down into her chin. When she looked up she heard all the voices in the bar all speaking. Now that's a nice Christian man. If that Stackhouse girl doesn't say yes, I sure as Hell will. Sookie turned up at Sam and nodded.* I'd love to Sam.
All the things she began hearing in her head once more were nasty. At least it ain't no vampire no more. Her grandmother'll be proud now. It's about time that girl came ta her senses. Seeing no dead man ain't no life. Not havin' no kids ain't right. Sookie ran into Sam's office and was crying. It wasn't because she said yes to Sam. Of course she wanted to go with him. It was all those nasty people.
Sam tapped his fingers gently over the wooden countertop, curiosity lingering over his aged face. Sookie was different.. she wasnât like any other girl who came in looking for a job application. She was special; anyone who was anyone would notice that about her.
He chewed his bottom lip between his teeth, a slight blush forming over his cheeks as Sookie paused to answer. The worst thing she could say is no, he told himselfâŠ
The moment the answer formed from his lips, a hint of relief seemed to form along his broad shoulders, though a frown was soon to follow⊠something had upset her. Was it him? Oh, how heâd wish he was a mind reader right now. Her sneakers tapping against the hardwood flooring were audible as he threw the dish towel down over the counter. âTara, watch the bar for me..â Sam replied, running after the barmaid.

-After the Roadhouse burned down, I needed a change and leaving it behind was the best decision I could ever make for myself. It wasnât a hard choice to make to leave Nebraska because it was never meant to be my home.
When you become a hunter, you travel from place to place and meet all kinds of new people. This is why I decided to continue my hunting journey and want to start saving people again.
I work better on my own anyway, and always have. It's been a few days on the road and I saw a sign that says 'Welcome to Bon Temps, Louisiana'. I heard a lot of stories about this town and didn't know which ones were true or not.
I knew I had to investigate it for myself and felt it was exactly the distraction I was looking for. The sun was going down for the night, and I drove up to the parking lot of a bar called Merlotte's Bar and Grill.
This place reminded me a lot of the Roadhouse. Maybe I wasn't leaving behind some things after all, and there are certain things that will be a part of me forever. I found an empty parking spot and turned the key to shut the engine off.
I opened the door, stepped out of the car, and walked towards the entrance. I opened the door and walked inside the building, looking around.-
The atmosphere seemed to change whenever the young woman walked through the glass doors, her golden locks hitting the sunâs rays just right as she looked around⊠clearly not from here. A few heads turned in her direction, especially Andy Bellefleurâs, who sat across from the two at the bar, nursing a rum and coke.
Sam didnât hesitate to greet her, his footsteps echoing softly on the restaurant's wooden flooring. His warm smile crimped the edges of his baby-blue eyes.
Clearing his throat, the shifter said fondly, âHey you! Welcome in. You must be new âround here, arenât ya?â His tone was friendly, but his gaze flickered briefly toward the woman, a hint of curiosity sparking in his eyes as if he, too, sensed the unusual energy radiating from her presence. She resembled a simple human, though there was something else thereâŠ
-Being the new girl in town was a little intimidating, but I had to put that feeling aside because I had a job to do. I didn't need to start feeling insecure, it was the last thing I needed.
I felt the atmosphere change and the tension in the room rising when I entered the room. Everyone looked at me as if I had committed some kind of crime by entering. It was nerve-racking to say the least.
As I was about to walk to an empty table and sit down, I was greeted by a charming individual. After clearing my throat, I glanced around the room and noticed the male drinking his rum and coke.
We briefly made eye contact, then my focus went back to you and I answered your questions.-
I am. It's nice to meet you. Is everyone always this friendly around here?
-The sarcastic side of me was coming out and I smiled softly. It didn't take me long to introduce myself to you.-
My name is Jo Harvelle. I am just passing by and decided to stop in for a drink and a bite to eat. You have a nice place here.
Sam crossed his arms over the familiar âMerlotteâsâ uniform that clung to frame, the apron a bit rumpled from hours of service. He leaned against the bar, his posture relaxed yet attentive, as he observed the young blonde who stood before him. A warm smile spread across his tanned face, highlighting the laughter lines around his mouth.
âUh, sometimesâŠâ he began, his voice friendly and laid-back, âI guess it all depends on what day you decide to chat with us Bon Temps folk.â He raised an eyebrow playfully, inviting her to share in the light-heartedness of the moment. âSo, tell me,â he continued, leaning in slightly, âName is Sam Merlotte. I own this little side of hospitality. Where are ya from? I donât recognize that accent; if you mind me beinâ nosyâŠ.â
