This blog is to show people the natural products that we make as a family. White as Wool Naturals was formed because my wife and I wanted âhealthyâ soap. All the soaps at the store dried our skin out or contained ingredients that we could not even pronounce. Our rule of thumb is that if you canât pronounce it, you donât need it in your mouth or on your skin. After going to many health food stores to check out the prices of âall-naturalâ soap, we were taken by surprise. I canât afford to pay that much for good soap! Not to mention, that the âorganicâ and âall-naturalâ titles must be investigated. Soap can only be considered about 85% organic at best (if you can get certified organic stock), but we also found that the coloring agents, although considered natural, can contain some very toxic chemicals (i.e. formaldehyde). So our quest began to make a âhealthyâ bar of soap. We researched and read lots of books to find out what oils make the best soap and what processes work the best to incorporate our ingredients. Through much trial and error, and the LORDâs help, we have found a blend of oils that we are satisfied with. You might be wonder how "White as Wool" has to do with soap. The short answer is that we want pure products. "White as Wool" was the symbol we chose out the Bible passage Revelation 1:14 "His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;". "White as Wool" is our symbol of purity. God has provided us with wonderful oils, botanicals, clays, minerals, etc. to use and enjoy. We want to make them available in functional, pure products. Although we are a young small business, we are excited about the opportunity to serve a larger customer base using the web. It is our goal to have lifetime customers. We want to pass on our soap making knowledge to our children, so that they can continue to sell âWhite as Woolâ products.
