Dear twelve-year-olds, you do not need a boyfriend/girlfriend. You are much too young for that kind of thing. Trust me when I say that most tweenage romances end miserably and that you’re better off waiting.

In fact, no one needs a romantic relationship to be happy; That’s a lie generated by people trying to sell romance novels and the like. Don’t get me wrong, romantic love is a wonderful thing, but if you start using it to make yourself feel “complete”, then you should probably take a step back and look and it all from a different angle. That line of thinking only leads to depression and negative thinking.

Watching people try to defend bad romance novels is hilarious.

“Oh, yeah? Well I’ll bet you’ve never been in love. That must be so sad and pathetic for you.”

You know what? You’re right. I’ve never been in love, but I don’t think that true love means constantly cheating, changing love interests all the time, and having endless fights over nothing and claiming that it’s not your fault.

And what does my romance life have to do with anything?

...Now I just need some people to argue with...

Arguing is not wrong

Point 1) You are not a hater for disagreeing with something, and you should not have to feel so. How on earth would anyone survive in a society where everyone had the exact same opinions?

Point 2) Don’t forget that arguing can actually be helpful. Look at lawyers, for example. Where would the prosecution be if all the defense said was “My client isn’t guilty and you must hate him if you don’t agree”? Arguing was not meant to be an expression of anger, but a way for the discovery of truth.

Point 3) Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that there is no incorrect way to argue. If you’re constantly referring to the other party’s lack of intelligence or insulting them in any way, then you’re really just showing them that your ideas don’t have enough truth in them to be effective.

Point 4) Everyone makes mistakes, and that includes you and your opponent. Don’t instantly assume you’ve won just because the other person has slipped up, because it’s possible that everything else they’re saying is true.

Being able to properly argue is a sign of maturity; Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Look... When you or your art is being criticized, it most likely does not mean that the person doing the critiquing hates you. It most likely indicates that they care about you and your work, and they just want you to become better.
