The SS Nomadic (Then the SS Ingenieur Minard) would ferry passengers from Cherbourg in France out to awaiting liners in the harbor, including the Queen Mary. Both ships still exist, one in Belfast and one in Long Beach.

Spanning the generations - SS Nomadic was built to serve the Olympic class liners, and ended up serving throughout the golden age of ocean liners, including the great Queens as well.

Today, she is the last Harland and Wolff ship left “afloat” (She’s drydocked) and you can go visit her in Belfast.
