The Polar Express/Pere Marquette 1225 - Humanized
finally got around to drawing my design for the Pol Ex (though i pretty much based this solely on the Pere Marquette 1225)… i love her so much it’s ridiculous 💀😭 hopefully i translated some of the more technical details well! i’m not a train enthusiast and i really don’t know much about locomotives so i hope she is accurate enough!! :3
For a second I was like "why doesn't that train have a steering wheel??" and then I felt VERY stupid
No no you're right I think they should have a steering wheel but not connected to anything, just a treat for the driver
Just had a really long, detailed, and steamy dream which took place as a historical drama involving a specific train on the first transcontinental railroad, and the many people who loved and fought over it. One gentleman in particular could actually speak to it, and it detailed their lives over the years they met authors, executives, and revolutionaries who cared for and fought for the train in their own way, as the flames of youthful idealism gave way to the cold corporate reality of the American industrial age. There was drama as the train grew disillusioned with greedy humans, but they and the gentleman eventually reconciled. The last scene of the dream involved the gentleman now old, and the train about to be decomissioned, speaking on the lives they lived and deciding one night to sneak out and ride off alone, knowing that they would be caught in the morning but wishing to experience one last ride, together, while they still could, to live their dream of freedom and intimacy. The scene of the gentleman tending to the train's boiler as it drove faster and faster was absolutely presented as sex.
I'm not even objectum for trains.

My brothers and I watched Polar Express last night, as we do every Christmas Eve, and my brother brought up a theory about the train hobo as a joke that we have LATCHED onto;
What if the hobo is the spirit of the Polar Express, and can control both the train and the tracks to some degree? And he's related to Santa in some way, and the two have something of a game where each year, Train/Hobo will try to convince kids not to believe, and Santa will try to convince them to believe? And because Santa's busy at the North Pole, he has an "agent" of sorts in the Conductor, which has led to a kind of friendly rivalry between Conductor and Train/Hobo? And Train/Hobo intentionally messes with Conductor by changing the train and the tracks each year, like the rollercoaster section or the carriage full of dead toys? And Santa can do something similar with the transport in the North Pole, like the pneumatic that the elves take, or the conveyors in the factory, which is why everything the kids do while in the North Pole simultaneously leads them further away from the square and makes them believe more???

Obviously I truly think that the conductor absolutely looooves his job. probably has been working for like 40-140 years, but like, is he supposed to be apart of the Christmas (secular) cannon? Like where did he come from. Is he also a saint like Santa? Are there any catholic saints that really liked trains, or happened to be a grade school teacher lmao? Yea that man gives me 4th grade teacher of 15 years energy. He don't take any kind of shit and i like that.
and the train engineers are def some kind of immortal elf or dwarf or something. they have been around probably just as long as the train itself has.
That brings me to that Ghost Man or whatever he is. Is he Santa himself in disguise? is he someone that died on that train? is he a different christmas ghost a la Ebenezer Scrooge? who tha hell is that guy.
Is the train itself a christmas creature of some kind? the way it interacts with the world makes it seem like it is, like, for example, they way the ticket got stuck in the grate, i feel like that couldn't just be plot armor. The whole train, the staff, the conductor, the trip itself is to teach the kids something about themselves and of course, strengthen their faith about Santa himself, so to me it would make sense that the train itself would be involved in this lesson. IS THE CONDUCTOR THE TRAIN?
Speaking of people being the train, i also think that the servers are the train as well, although there were a lot of train cars, we saw into a good portion of them, and i dod not see any staff outside of that scene. Also the magic of the tables appearing and disappearing.

New headcanon acquired in the Modernly Classical universe.
She would a little shit to every single engine and would jumpscare them using jack-in-the-boxes, megahorns, tubas, you name it. Every single thing that is able to make a loud ass sound.
