Ruminating

Searching for my favorite Hoodie Still nothing if not a dreamer Pull a mug out of the cupboard Pour in your favorite creamer Rub my eyes as if I'm seven Scroll through my Instagram My birthday month is creeping up In like a lion....out like a lamb Just everyday life lessons Time keeps marching on Put my earbuds in as they play My favorite taylor swift song I keep thinking how I'm yours But you are never really mine How I maintain a gut feeling You're feeding me line after line Explain everything in pretty words Make me see your P.O.V Divert all my pointed questions To keep me in ecstasy Your words are good for me Still, my anxiety stays keen Not trusting the things you say Even when my eyes have seen Seen the way you look at me Seen the effort you put forth How you made me love me again Pointing my compass north The smell of coffee snaps me back You're still lying in our bed I stay on cloud nine with you From all the things you've ever said Am I just fooling me Or have I found a forever love I keep ruminating daily But stay when push comes to shove I am strong and apt without you Still, you bring laughter to my days I ride both sides of the fence Hoping my thoughts are just a phase Coz I know what it's like to wish Pray for a man that's just like you To hope one-day karma would arrive To right all that I've been through I kiss your lips and hand you coffee You give me that lingering stare Once again I'm lost in you Time standing still in our lair
