The last thing Shadow remembered with any degree of clarity was fighting alongside Sonic to stop the ARK from destroying everything. He’d become unable to maintain his super form after that, and he fell. If he had fallen through outer space and toward the earth itself, though, then why was it that he could see crystalline shapes in the distance? Why could he feel grass beneath him? Shouldn’t he have been…?

I won’t get answers if I just keep laying here, Shadow told himself. The next course of action was clearly to get on his feet and figure out where he was. Except, when he tried to move, the hedgehog was met with a throbbing sensation in his head and aches in his body. What he did see in the brief moment he was able to look around, though, was one or two shapes of equine creatures. One in particular seemed more elegant than the others. And their colors were bright.

Where was he?

Again, Shadow tried to make himself move. As he did, he decided to speak. If those really were intelligent creatures nearby, then perhaps they could assist him.

“You over there. Can you tell me where I am?”

Cadance had managed to take a break from her duties and get some fresh air. It was just her and a guard out in the fields just outside the empire’s city limits. The plan was to have a quick little picnic by herself—basically tea and little sandwiches and a couple of scones and cookies. Perhaps more than a Princess should eat by herself, but she hadn’t had a chance to eat all day with meetings and the like.

As Cadance popped up with a quick downward flap of her wings, she spotted a black and red…thing. Then she heard their voice. The alicorn made her way towards them and as she landed she said, “Did you ask where you were? This is the Crystal Empire.”

“Your Majesty!” her guard yelled after her.

Cadance winced, smiled at her new acquaintance, and yelled back over her shoulder. “Sorry! I found someone. They might be hurt?” She turned back to Shadow. “Are you hurt?”

“You’ve always thought so highly of me, so of course I’d return the favor. That and one always supports their friends.”

“Well, I suppose it wouldn’t be christmas without this darling~!” And just like that, she found her with Cadence under the mistletoe. As such, she leaned in to kiss Cadance, who now was her former principal but still her lover.

Cadance smiled, happily kissing her girlfriend. “How about tonight we find a horse drawn carriage? Maybe look at lights and have hot chocolate?”

[Silver] “What do you want for Hearth Warming? Besides maybe a night to your fuckin’ self; eat, drink, get a rub down - maybe optional on that last one.”

“A spa day actually sounds wonderful,” Cadance answered, practically melting at the idea.

He poofs a mistletoe onto her horn. "Well, would you look at that! Well, a tradition is a tradition, right Caddy?"

She may have gone a little cross eyed looking at the mistletoe on her forehead. “Oh! And this one just happens to be my favorite tradition!”

@whoeverloved Rarity felt her heart race. She had been with cadence for 2 years now, and today was the day the siren worked up the courage to tell her how she really felt. Clearing her throat, Rarity said “Cadance, I know we’ve been through so much together. You know I love you, with all my heart. And now, I must set my heart free.” Rarity got down on one knee, and held out a ring, “Mi Amore Cadenza, will you marry me?”

Cadance didn’t know what she expected when Rarity said she wanted to meet up. A marriage proposal was certainly not even on the list.

It took her by surprise and finally she realized Rarity was still waiting on an answer.

She should respond.

The answer was yes, of course. But words. Words needed to happen.

“Rarity....” Cadance grinned. “I thought it was going to be me on one knee,” she quipped. “But, yes. Of course, I’ll marry you.”

“Well that doesn’t mean you can’t propose to someone who has proposed to you already~!” Rarity chuckled. “Perhaps for our anniversary we could renew our vows.” She said with a smile.

“Not when you’re going to expect it,” she teased. Cadance held out her hand for Rarity to slip the ring on and examined it afterwards. “Oh, Rare, it’s beautiful!”
