baabe and asher highschool sweethearts headcanons! some of them are seperate, some together :3
baabe who in highschool, was a library dwelling tumblr nerd. when they weren't with ash, they'd sit curled up in the corner of the library, gnawing on a shitty crossiant and scrolling the depths of tumblr. total dork, but pulled it off and made it cute. ( galaxy leggings and black shorts over it type fit )
asher who in high school, was going through a sort-of-emo phase. despite his appearances, he was his same self, extroverted, laidback and strangely friendly for a guy dressed like a modern day male manipulator's idol. he'd spend most of his lunches with the pack, with baabe tucked into his side and him halfway tucked into david's ( against his will ) side. he didn't bring lunch most days, choosing to mooch off of everyone else ( david, the appointed sugar-daddy of the group ) for food.
baabe who went through all of asher's phases with him, even with how embarrassing or painful they were to watch progress. during his skateboarding phase, he'd drag baabe to the local skatepark afterschool and make them watch him attempt a kickflip for an hour, then get really pouty when they were infact not watching him "almost get it" for the sixteenth time. that wasn't the worst phase he'd been through, not even by a long shot.
asher who notices that baabe was getting teased quite a lot by some of the popular dickheads, and bites his knuckles trying not to throttle them. how did they not see that they were the most interesting, funny, beautiful, witty, smart, talented person to ever be? it infuriated him. one day, he finds them crying quietly in their usual book corner, phone abandoned as they try to pick twigs and leaves from their hair after they'd had stuff thrown at them during gym. after finding out what happened ( and picking out the remaining bits from their hair ) he stormed to tank, and went on an angry ramble about it, pacing back and forth for forty minutes. tank, who didn't really want to spend their whole lunchtime and last class listening to asher rant about it, took the situation into their own hands.
the bullying stopped pretty abruptly after that.
