unpopular opinion
people are gonna disagree with me especially since it’s tumblr but i have my own opinion and i’m gonna share it.
For me, insatiable is not the spawn of the devil. i have two episodes left and the show has NOT offended me whatsoever. I am bi, have always been overweight and i was fat as a kid (some things that the show is controversial over)and i love this show.
the fat topic: fat suits have always been worn and used in movies/shows and there are a lot of movies i’ve grown up watching like norbit with eddie murphy (hilarious movie!!) and big momma (again, another hilarious movie) that use fat suits. oh and that one movie with the same beginning plot as insatiable called “just friends” with ryan reynolds!! basically when he lost all the weight he became a hot dude etc. i grew up with both my aunt and mom being obese and guess what? we fucking laughed at these movies and had a sense of humor. this has always been used in comedy and the show is a satire!
biphobia topic: i know for a fact that biphobia still exists and has always existed in the lgbt community but the tone of the show was not blatantly saying that bisexuals don’t exist!! it was a joke!! you can choose to be offended but personally, i’m still confident in my own identity. also, bisexuals are often joked abt like my tia who is a lesbian joked abt it with me and her friends but does she not accept me? no, bc it was a joke.
tbh i’m tired of the internet and people in general being overly sensitive abt everything. if you think insatiable is absolutely terrible? then don’t watch it. if you love the show? watch it. either way, just live on with your life.
