The only robot born with the "directive" to finally defeat ANONYMOUS CALLS, is now also the only ROBOT-BLOGGER on the web! Follow WhooBot, and do not forget to install Whooming
Are you looking for a way to find out who's calling you? We have a handy app that helps you tracing anonymous calls. All you have to do is simply install Whooming and set up call forwarding to its server.
How does Whooming work?
When you receive a call from a private or anonymous number, just reject it and Whooming will immediately show you the number in clear of the anonymous call.
How many times have you received anonymous calls, even several times a day, and wished you could find out who is calling you? How often do you receive anonymous calls that turn out to be prank calls, commercial calls from persistent call centres, or in the worst cases, harassment by stalkers?
If you have often received incoming calls without seeing the caller's number, you have come to the right place: we're going to tell you all about Whooming, the only app that can unmask anonymous phone calls.
Here you will find the ultimate solution to discover the unknown number of your caller. Let's take a look at how Whooming works and how to see private numbers in real time.
Whooming is the application that allows you to find out the real identity of unknown callers. Let's see how it does it!
Call forwarding: why it matters
Whooming's functionality is based on call forwarding when busy. By rejecting anonymous calls (therefore resulting busy), the anonymous calling number is diverted to our server, which decrypts it and sends it decoded to your application.
Don't worry, your phone will work as normal: every time you receive a call when you're busy, Whooming will send you a real-time notification with the number that searched for you. Twice useful!
Call forwarding when busy is preferable to full call forwarding: if you set up full call forwarding, you won't receive any more calls, while what you care about is being able to decipher anonymous calls.
Installation and Login
To install Whooming you need to download it from the App Store or GooglePlay. The app is only available for smartphones and tablets.
Once installed, you can log in using any of the following methods: access via Google or Facebook account, Apple ID, or email address.
If you choose to log in by email, you must wait until you receive a code in your mailbox, which you can then enter in the app to set your password. If you haven't received it, wait a few minutes or check the Spam and Promotions boxes.
While you are waiting for the code, it is essential that you do not close the app! You can open other apps in the meantime (including your mailbox), but it's important to leave the app open in background. Closing the application and then reopening it would continue the configuration without having the account validated. This is a minor step at first glance, but it's actually very important to proceed smoothly.
Configuring Whooming
Once you're logged in, follow the configuration wizard to set up call forwarding. Should anything not work with the configuration, you can also proceed manually.
Once everything is set up, remember to reject anonymous calls: Whooming will tell you the number of the caller!
And if you need to, you can also associate multiple phone numbers to your Whooming account.
You've installed Whooming, the app that discovers anonymous calls, but you're having problems: maybe you're not seeing the numbers decoded within the app? A message tells you you're having connection problems? Do you feel like Whooming isn't working? Let's find out what's going on and how to fix it!
Before explaining some of the reasons why Whooming may not be working, we'd like to remind you that Whooming DOES WORK, all the more so if the associated account has been configured correctly and call forwarding has been set up properly.
Now let's look at some of the reasons why Whooming may not work:
The app is telling me that I am having connection problems.
Whooming may be reporting this message because the app is out of date. As a first step, you need to make sure that the Whooming app is updated to the latest version. Operating systems do not always report the presence of a new version, so it is best to check the store and update manually.
I have updated the app, but it still says I have connection problems.
If the app is updated correctly, then perhaps there really is a connection problem. Try experimenting using both WiFi and phone data, maybe leave the phone in aeroplane mode for a few minutes first.
The app won't work unless I have at least €1 credit in my SIM card.
The app may have trouble handling the diversion if your phone credit is only a few cents. However, this depends on the telephone operator: call forwarding, in order to be operational, often needs to find a credit in the reference user. This does not mean that this credit is taken by the operator or Whooming: it is only a prerequisite. Make sure you have at least 1 € credit to use Whooming correctly. If you want to check that in fact that credit has not been spent, you can check your remaining credit with the services provided by your operator (many operators allow you to check your credit with their app, by calling or sending an SMS).
I have set up the app correctly, but I don't see any anonymous calls even though I know I have received them.
When you receive anonymous calls, are you sure you REJECT them?
Except for specific cases of some not-so-legal anonymity services, which Whooming can't track because they don't actually have a number, Whooming can track any number. In order to see that number, however, you first have to reject that call at the moment you are receiving it. This is crucial to activate call forwarding. Make sure you always reject calls from anonymous numbers - only then will Whooming be able to unmask them!
How to configure Whooming: setting up call forwarding
You have installed Whooming, the app that unmasks anonymous calls. You understand how it works, but need help with setting up call forwarding?
Here's a ready-made guide on how to set up Whooming quickly and safely!
The configuration wizard is inside the app, you should be able to complete it just by following the steps right after installation.
If you don't manage to finish it according to the guidelines don't worry, here are the instructions to configure the app manually.
Dial *672035146021# (number of the UK server; for the US server, please dial **67*2405075379#) with your phone and press the green button.
**67* is the code for setting up call forwarding when busy that is valid for most operators; by calling this number the line will drop immediately and you will have set up call forwarding on busy.
To find out why this step is important, we refer you to our other article: How Whooming works.
After this, we move on to the second part of the configuration wizard: you need to call yourself anonymously.
Depending on the type of operator, in the configuration wizard within the app you may be asked to either call yourself or have someone else call you and reject the call. If you're in doubt, as not all operators allow self-calling, here you will find instructions on how to have someone else call you.
How do I call anonymously? Ask a friend or family member to call you by putting the string 141 (for UK; *67 for US) in front of your phone number. You will receive a call from an Blocked Number: reject it, and check that the app works.
Important: within the app wizard, it is essential to have the app call you within the 120 seconds of the countdown you see on the display. Once the 120 seconds have elapsed without this step, the operation will have to be repeated again.
Well, you have now successfully set up Whooming! You can now start to discover all anonymous calls that bother you. Remember to reject the anonymous call when it arrives: only then will Whooming be able to decrypt it and reveal the unencrypted number.
Here's a quick guideline to the most frequently asked questions about Whooming.
- Is Whooming free?
Whooming is totally free. If you want to unblock all its functions, you can subscribe to any subscription plans from your app.
- I do not remember my password. What should I do?
If you forgot the password you registered on Whooming, just click on "Log In" and then on "Forgot Password?". You will receive an email with the new password; please check also your Spam and Promotions folders of your email inbox.
- Do I have to reject blocked calls?
To function, Whooming needs you to set up the call diversion when busy. To identify the call, it is required that you always decline blocked calls. If you have enabled the unconditional call diversion, however, the phone will not ring and all calls will be automatically diverted to Whooming and will all appear on your Call List in the app.
- I received a blocked call, but I can't see the number.
Unfortunately, even if you have credit in your phone and you set up everything correctly, it may happen that when you receive a blocked call, you and your anonymous caller hang up simultaneously. In this case, the call is ended by the caller before it can reach Whooming's server for the identification.
- Are Whooming results legally valid?
The results you get on Whooming do NOT have a legal validity. If you identify a stalker with Whooming and you decide to take legal action against them, the legal authorities will arrange collection of legal information through your phone records.
- What does "0", "Anonymous", or "incomplete number"mean?
There are phone carriers, usually Voip, which allow you to make calls without entering any sender, not even hidden - eg. Skype, telephone booths, Viber, etc. In these cases, not even Whooming can identify the call.
- How can I unsubscribe from Whooming and deactivate the call diversion?
To unsubscribe from Whooming, you first have to deactivate the call diversion. If you set the forwarding when busy, type on your keypad the string ##67# and call it. If you set the unconditional call diversion, the code you need to type and dial is ##21#. After that, to delete your Whooming acount, go to the Settings in your app and click on "Delete Account". This action cannot be canceled.
