a whumpee who's forgotten they ever had a life before whumper. what do you mean "rescue"? they don't know these people, they've never lived anywhere but here, they've never known anything but pain.

I Missed my favorite tat! :( anyways, accept this very late Caretaker tat
Caretakers who aren't appreciated at first by their team. With a quiet and constant presence, they're constantly taken for granted.
That is, until Whumper gets a hold of them. Caretaker almost laughs on his face, because they know their team won't go lengths to find them... Or so they think.
When team manage to rescue them, amidst the pain and the fever, Caretaker mumbles something along the lines of "I didn't think you'll come" and the team is heartbroken. It slowly dawns on them, they hadn't been a great team for Caretaker.
No time like the present to start being that great team for them :)
Feverish whumpee being carried is my absolute Kryptonite. Especially if they're so disoriented and scared but caretaker soothes them with whispered reassurances. Carries them into what will become their sickroom, says worriedly to other caretaker 's/he's burning up' and proceeds to make a wet compress for their forehead,---i just ascend right to Whump Heaven!
Yessss, it's so good!
Back in time: A just died, but B goes back in time to save them. And A keeps dying, over and over, and B keeps going back.
Over time, B starts to get desensitized to all the deaths, because, well, A dies. Gruesomely. All the time. A needs B. And then A and B get seperated, for a long time. B thinks A is dead as a result. Only, years later, B sees A. Perfectly fine. And B has to ask themselves: did I cause their deaths?
I think my head just exploded
A is a retired assassin for hire/spy and is happily in love with B, the most bland, normal, defenceless person in the world. B is kidnapped by C, one of A's former friends, that thinks that, if they kill B, A will return to their former self and they can be friends and work together once again. Cue torture, taunting A and B being absolutely destroyed after finding out what kind of person A used to be. Maybe A manages to save B but they no longer trusts them.
Very nice! I love a good combo of whump and angst.
One of my favorite experiences is scrolling through the Whumpapedia, seeing multiple entries for one episode of a show and experiencing the transition from “Are those just mistaken duplicate entries?” to “Oh, wow, they’re not, everything just really hits the fan for every single character in Episode 15″
I am jumping onto the supernatural whumpee train! Do you have any ideas for any oni whumpee solutions (or just any demon whumpee solutions)?
I couldn’t find any standout weaknesses for oni specifically but for demons in general, another mishmash of lore:
Most are vulnerable to burns by iron, holy water and pure sunlight.
Salt could create a barrier they couldn’t cross.
Gallium could be poisonous if ingested or absorbed.
They’ll suffer extreme pain if they set foot on sacred ground.
Sweet, fresh foods like fruits can make them violently ill for a day.
Because they’re usually relegated to hellfire, they could be vulnerable to cold temperatures.
Like fairies, speaking a demon’s true name could weaken, enslave or banish them.
Some with vampiric tendencies have bloodlust that can drive them into a frenzy.
Also like vampires, they are repelled by religious symbols or spoken names of holy figures.
A reverse exorcism could prevent a demon from leaving a vessel if they try to escape torture or interrogation.
I love whumpees who initially are scared of the caretaker. It's (usually) not rational, the caretaker is kind - they've just been conditioned to believe that anyone and everyone will hurt them. They flinch from every touch or raised voice, letting themselves open up about what's wrong is a long and difficult battle, but slowly...they heal.
Beautiful
This isn’t used a lot so it may be just something I enjoy
But how about people who upkeep bandages on them even though the injury(s) they cover have been healed for a quite a while because they rather have those than bear to look at the scar(s) :3
I'll take 10
A vampire who goes too long without feeding, trying not to hurt others, being cared for by their new friend
(“Drink, it’s okay.”)
Bonus points for the vampire being ridiculously weak from not eating and having to be carried somewhere bridal style
Spooktacular
Whumpee is finally going to be reunited with their team. It’s been years, but through all their torment and sadistic treatment, Whumpee knew that they’d get to see their team again at the end of it. Whumpee’s once athletic build has been reduced to a frail, lanky form, their well-kept hair had been shaved to treat injuries on their head when they were found after escaping, and their face seemed to be a sunken-in echo of it’s former self.
The team burst through the doors. Underneath Whumpee’s adapted mask of indifference, they were smiling ear-to-ear. The team was healthy and happy, just as they’d hoped, and now that they’d escaped their capture, they could be whole again. Tears of happiness welled in Whumpee’s eyes as they looked up from their bed at the team as they scanned the room. Their gaze eventually fell on the doctor, who was checking Whumpee’s vitals.
“I’m sorry,” One of the team members said to the doctor as their smile dropped. They looked from the doctor to Whumpee and back to the doctor. “This must be the wrong room. Do you know which room Whumpee is located in?”
A winged whumpee who was shot down mid flight and now has a fear of fly and/ or heights
Someone trying to sacrifice themselves even when it's not necessary because they truly believe that it would be better if they weren't around - and the rest of their team, unaware of their pain, trying to figure out why they're being so reckless.
💔
Caretaker looked over to the couch where Whumpee was laying, their arms wrapped tightly around their stomach, curling into as much of a fetal position as their injuries would allow. They’d been there all day and if it weren’t for the work that Character A had to do at the kitchen table, they never would’ve carried Whumpee out of bed.
What worried them the most was that Whumpee wasn’t feverish nor coughing, but had managed to literally worry themselves sick.
More Snarky Whump Prompts/Starters
“Bet you $100 that’s infected.”
“I’m not going to coddle you this time, you made the choice to overdo it. Suffer the consequences.”
“One of these days, you’re not going to get back up.”
“You can’t keep rushing headfirst into danger and not expect get hurt!”
“I don’t know who told you you’re invincible, but you’re not.”
“There’s a difference between being brave and being stupid! I don’t know why, but you keep picking ‘stupid!’”
“Um…that is not how bandaids work.”
“I can’t tell if I’m more relieved you survived or angry you almost got yourself killed in the first place.”
“The shape you’re in, you couldn’t even take on a feather duster!”
“What happens when I’m not here to patch you up anymore, huh?”
“Did you make a deal with the devil or is your guardian angel working overtime?”
“You said you had a ‘small injury!’ This is not small!”
“The way you were downplaying this, I thought you stubbed your toe but there is bone coming out of your skin!”
“Sometimes I swear you’re trying to get hurt…”
“I warned you it wasn’t going to go well, but you didn’t listen.”
“You’re looking at weeks of wound healing here. Literal weeks!”
“You’re not familiar with the concept of taking it easy, are you?”
“I’d be surprised if you could make it down the hall without collapse.”
Vampire Whump 6: The Journey
I’m back at it again with more vampire whump!!! Have another 4k words of Callum and this nameless vampire, traipsing through the desert and being dumbasses.
Content Warnings for this one: Conditioning, aftermath of torture, using ‘it’ as a pronoun, blood, fear, some comfort, reluctant caretaker, kindness, but the whumpiest kind, ??? It will get fluffier as we go, also, it’s fluffier than it sounds
Tagging the amazing @jay-whumples @pepperonyscience @learningtowhump @robinshouseofwhump @shameless-whumper @whumpingmydarlings @whump-em and @silverinkgoldenquill, who asked for more :)

The journey is long, and the vampire spends most of it totally numb and disconnected. Something horrible is waiting for it back in its own body, it always is. But it has not struggled, and so far, it has not been hurt. The very idea of mercy in return for obedience is ludicrous. And yet, Callum’s hand has remained, soft and gentle on its back, seemingly with no purpose other than to comfort. It had frightened the vampire, at first, thinking it was being held down. But time is trickling by, and the hunter’s hand has stayed.
It’s the longest the vampire can ever remember being touched without pain.
But as the hours tick by, even the vampire’s distance from its own body can’t ease the growing discomfort. With its arms bound behind its back, most of its weight rests on abused ribs. The pressure from being slung over the saddle is becoming harder to ignore.
The transition from uncomfortable to painful takes several hours, and as it happens, the vampire only clenches its jaw shut tighter. The creature doesn’t understand what is happening, or where it is being taken. But it is determined to stay quiet, and still, and obedient. The muzzle could be put back on at any time. Its ribs are broken, and the discomfort spikes into agony with every sway of the horse. But the creature is still covered by the bag, keeping away from the scorching sun. This is still better, the vampire reminds itself, even as tears of pain start to prick at its eyes. This is still better.

Is anyone else more about accidental whump than having a whumper? Like falling down a well or getting fallen on by a horse or an infected animal bite? Like, torture seems to dominate the whump scene, sometimes it's nobody's fault. And that's just the worst thing in the world sometimes.
Person A falls off a small cliff into the ocean, has to swim, hypothermic and with a broken arm, to an outcrop of rock, and person B is wondering where they are, they should be home by now.
Or there's an unexpected snow storm. Person A goes out to reinforce the cabin roof and falls off their ladder, knocking themself out cold. Person B freezes half to death looking for them in the dark.
Or young person A gets pulled into the river and their family race to get them out.
I'm all about nonviolent, human error based whump, it's just so wholesome to see a community help each other out against the cruelty of nature rather than man
