Talented whumpee in a team of prodigies. No matter how hard they worked to catch up to their teammates, they would never match the unbelievable growth of the others. Often compared, often mocked, often miserable and close to giving up. And imagine if they had this unexplainable hate for the team. The team has always cherished them, saw them as different in a way that they need protection and whumpee despises it. They may be iron among stones but they are iron among diamonds and that warrants a harsh comparison by those around them.

Whumpee who can't bring themselves to enjoy anything happening around them because they spend the time worrying about what's next. They're used to bad days that it's not even bad, just normal. But every time something good happened to them, as soon as their hope is pulled up, something had to pull it down. Every happy moment meant something bad would happen. And so they learned not to savor their happy moments and use it to brace themselves for what's coming.

Whumpee who just can't bring themselves to speak up in fear of being dismissed or judged. Maybe the team has spoken about something similar to their situation and they misunderstood it as their view of his situation itself. It could be "overdramatic," "imagined," "unrealistic," "overexaggerated," or something like that. Now they've decided to keep it all in until they eventually break down.

Whumpee who has no one. They sob and sob until they can't breathe with no comforting embrace to soothe their cries. They pick themselves up before they collapse, knowing full well there was no one to catch and carry them to a warm place to recover. Whumpee who has no one to hold on to when their knees tremble and buckle, no one to lay their head on when the pain is unbearable and no one to turn to in times of trouble. It goes on and on that they're used to being lonely and it convinces them that it was always just meant to be that way. They'll either end up pushing people away or be blinded from the comfort offfered to them.

Whumpee who empathizes with everyone around them. Happy for them, getting mad for them and getting sad for them and they can't even control it. They put themselves in their friends' shoes and feel miserable. The hard part was recovering, realizing your friend has recovered and you're left being pained, wondering why you're the one being left behind.

Whumpee who just can't take a break no matter where he goes. Whether it came from emotional pain or physical pain, it jumps him after every moment with it and sometimes even piles up as the days pass by. They're desperate to find some sort of relief but are denied by fates. They repeat in a mantra "It'll all get better" until they ultimately deem it impossible and break.

strict morally grey caregiver in survival situation taking away whumpee's sleeping bag for refusing medical care. "this is mine now. sleeping bags are for people who want to survive, not whiners like you. you get to go to sleep cold." whumpee is furious and tries to wrestle it back. "aww, you're so weak. if you took your medicine maybe you would be strong enough to get it back from me. oh, well. let me know if you change your mind."

Whumpee who doesn't sleep because they see it as unproductive.

Let's sayyyy they're a redeemed villain and they're desperately craving the team's favor and to do that, they're always doing a lot of work for the team and so they overwork themselves by doing work all day without sleeping.

Or! A team captain who tries so hard to be the best they can for the the team. They think that they could be doing so much more for the team when they're awake so they skip sleeping.

How about a newbie who works so much harder than the members themselves because they think it's something they needed to do in order to be useful to the team and they can't be useful when they're sleeping.

Maybe a whumpee who has trauma from something really bad happening while they were asleep and if they were awake, they could have helped a lot to change the outcome of the event to be better so now they stay awake as long as they can to do as much as they can handle.

I don't know if you've noticed but I usually post Whump with no Whumpers! Usually it's Whumpee themselves that are the Whumpers. The ones that suffee not because of other peolle but because they hurt themselves. It could be actively and directly making themselves suffee or just keeping all the suffering in and not accepting any kind of help. I adore it when you know that you definitely have the power to feel better, to be comforted but they choose not to and make everything worse OR they try their hardest to feel happier but for some reason they just can't bring themselves to. Do they think they're undeserving? Or maybe they just can't find a way to just... be happy.

Whumpee who can't sleep not because of insomnia or things like nightmares but because they think they don't deserve peace, rest and comfort. They'd so desperstely wish that they could sleep off all of their problems but then best themselves up over how selfish it was to have thoughts like that because leaving your responsibilities meant burdening it with other people and they would rather die from those responsibilities than let someone else shoulder them.

Okay, more in the whump potential voice series, Whumpee who talks so much that everyone just pretends to understand most of the time. They're such a chatterbox that everyone's just learned to nod and agree to what they say without hearing them out. It's especially great when Whumpee doesn't like asking for help because they've always been the unserious one. They weren't used to being taken seriously. Imagine they're in pain but doesn't know how to tell someone so they're chatting like usual and slips it in casually that they're in pain but no one really notices becausd they just nod their head and go "That's great Whumpee." Not knowing how much Whumpee has been spiraling and hurting.

Ahhh if only you could run away from all of your responsibilities. If only you could snap and just be in a place where you have no worries at all. Even if it wasn't forever. I'd like a sip from the cup of peace.

One last post about a Whumpee with a voice problem... Prolly not but here. Whumpee DOES have a voice but you can barely hear it. Imagine having the ability to say that you're hurt but no one being able to hear you no matter how hard you try so you just go along with what they understood from it.

- "Are you okay?" Teammate asks. Whumpee nods but says "Yeah but this hurts a lot, I need help." Teammate doesn't understand but sees the nod. "That's good, let's get going.

- "Can I get help here?" Drowning in the chorus of the team's loud discussions.

- "It hurts..." Whumpee buries their head in their arms as they crouch in the corner, knowing no one will hear them ask for help.

Me: In a library, finding a potentially whumpy book, flipping to the middle to see: "He initiated a complicated physical engagement when he calibrated the entry point with the dagger strictly horizontally aligned on the muscular tissue of the person in front of him and applied a consistent linear force until the hilt achieved full contact the surface of their body."

There's something about a Whumpee passed out from an injury or illness or whatever being mistaken as just being sleepy or lazy. Imagine they're on the verge of collapsing but they can't find anywhere they can collapse that the team won't find them, worry about them, waste their supplies and direct their focus on something so "insignificant".

And so they hide in plain sight, they crouch on the tree, slumped over as their vision tunnels and finally darkens completely. Teammate finds them and shakes them awake, calling them lazy and later realizing they're not waking up even when they shake them violently.

Teammate notices the intense heat of their skin or their tightly scrunched eyebrows or the blood seeping through their shirt or maybe the heavy breaths and the profuse sweat running down their face Or maybe Teammate lets go from shaking Whumpee but as soon as they do, Whumpee falls on the ground, shaking and writhing maybe conscious, maybe unconscious.

I've talked about Whumpee not being able to talk generally but what about Whumpee not being able to talk from the pain? Trying so hard to get something out but it all comes up as a huff of air as tears cascade down their cheeks. Groans and moans of pain replace the words they desperately try to form as means of asking for help. Absolutely *chefs kiss*
