Who is your favorite character (as a character), and who is your favorite character (to write)?

My favorite character as a character rotates often! I am drawn to Sarah, though, as I think her development is the most interesting, and we’re the most similar (a piece of me lies in every character, but Sarah and I share the most similarities)

My favorite to write has been Sarah so far. I love how she thinks and talks! Chapter nine (her first POV chapter) remains one of my favorites for this reason :) I do enjoy writing Dani, though! Her inner dialogue is really fun to write. She’s so sick of everything and everyone, lol

I've noticed that in FotW nobody's mother is ever mentioned very much. Dani and Max don't really think about theirs, and there's basically no trace of Jack's wife/Sarah's mother. You don't have to like expound on this if you don't want to i've just Noticed this

Imagine, if you will: an AU where Dani and Sarah's places are switched. Like maybe Dani was kidnapped at a younger age and has been at the cabin long enough to no longer make a fuss. And then Sarah could still be Jack's daughter but she ran away or got somehow separated from him and has been trying to outrun him ever since, but inevitably gets taken back home. (Maybe she's not a Christian anymore either.)

How would the characters act in these situations, and what would it have taken for them to act that way? I'm trying to think about it and maybe I have some thoughts but I want to hear if this interests you at all first

Damn, this is hard to think about! Just for the fact that I have thought of these two characters as so deeply created by their circumstances, that these circumstances would radically change who they are as characters.

I feel like Dani might still be similar, as in being a little spitfire. She’d give Jack a run for his money growing up! But she’d end up a lot more subdued than she is now.

Sarah would essentially have ended up as [REDACTED] did. Angry and confused and deeply hurt by her upbringing. Deconstruction would definitely be on her radar!
