Obligatory Apology Post

Sorry guys, I didn’t mean to disappear for like two weeks but between life happening and a couple other blogs I’ve been working on I just put off getting on and doing replies.

he tilted his head, raising an arm to rest his chin on his wrist thoughtfully. he hadn’t looked hilbert in the eyes yet, or even at his face, leaving him unaware to his current state as he gazed quietly off into space.

of course, that isn’t to say emotions weren’t catching up to him either, but his were manifesting as guilt. as he analysed everything he’d said so far, he could easily deduce that hilbert really had been actively searching for him, possibly even to the point of sleep deprivation…

the heart of a hero of ideals is a relatively optimistic one, not as easily dragged down by the knowledge or estimate of unfortunate truths that may haunt others and turn them to pessimists. these past two years, he’d gotten himself to believe that as he searched for hilbert, hilbert was searching for him too, and that they would meet again someday…

that was his dream, the ideal he wanted to be reality– and it was, but even though his dream came true, it didn’t feel… right yet. hiding away from all of those unfortunate truths was impossible now that he was being confronted with them…

he lifted his head and his lips parted as if he were about to speak, but failed to form any words after he finally looked at hilbert’s face and realized he was crying.

“h-hilbert?”

he quickly moved closer and reached out as if he were going to hug him, but his hands end up hovering over him instead, uncertain if he’d be alright with a hug…

“are you okay?” he asked worriedly. “ah… i-i’m sorry, i…”

a pause.

“this is my fault… isn’t it…? i know i– i shouldn’t have left suddenly like that…”

The time he spent looking for N managed to not turn Hilbert into a pessimist despite never being able to find him for so long. It was the sleep deprivation mixed with the overwhelming emotions he felt in this moment that caused this reaction, he had no idea how to handle it whatsoever. Quickly he wiped the tears from his face but his eyes felt so exhausted and the rest of his body was slowly getting to that point, normally he’d just flood his body with caffeine and he’d be fine but that wouldn’t do the job this time. When N got closer and moved to hug him Hilbert didn’t hesitate to embrace the other in one burying his face in N’s shoulder. 

It was so easy to close his eyes now, once he did they felt so much better. After that sudden explosion of feelings he felt so much better, relieved even. The Truth set in, N wanted them to meet again, something he fear was not the truth.

“I’m great, N. It isn’t your fault, I understand why you left, that’s why I made the decision to follow you”

“Who are you?” he was blunt, but only because he was taken by surprise.

so the feeling she had was from the person right in front of her, zekrom was feeling it as well, she haven’t answered his question yet so it’s probably best to answer it before anything else. “ me ? i’m rosa, and you are ? ”

That caught her off guard. Rosa wasn’t trying to actually take the ice cream, she was mostly just… whoops. Now she felt guilty.

“Wait, wait, no, nono… sorry, I was just venting, sorry, um… I mean, you already got it, you keep it… sorry. I guess I was screwing up there…”

“No really, I don’t mind. I wasn’t that hungry at all. You didn’t screw up” Now Hilbert felt bad, he didn’t want her to think she messed up.

  “Yeah, but can you blame me? I’ve never lost to any of the local trainers and I’ve studied each and every Gym Leader, Elite Four member, and Champion in Sinnoh. I use what I know about them in my battle plans and those plans, along with the strength of Regi, have helped me earn my seven badges. As for Volk, he’ll come back someday.”

“Oh…” She looked worried now, after all, if he got sick then it was all her fault. “Should I-” Before could finish it was their turn in line, and Hexie nudged him forward to the counter. “Could you get me a caprese wrap? Please?”

He didn’t mean for her to feel bad before he could say anything he was being nudged, he turned towards the counter “Can I get an Italian Hoagie and a caprese wrap, please and thank you”

Concerned a bit now, mostly because things weren’t adding up and she was sure she was messing things up, she reached out to press a very cold hand to his forehead. “Did I mess the spell up…? You’re supposed to have messy hair, but… Your face is turning red like you’re getting sick…”
