A Ray of Hope for Farmers in Rajasthan's Gadheda Village
For several years, the problem of waterlogging in Gadheda village, Rajasthan, had been a major source of distress for the local farmers. According to the villagers, approximately 250 bighas of fertile land lay submerged under six feet of water, bringing agricultural activities to a complete standstill and plunging the farmers into an economic crisis.
The villagers state that they appealed to various authorities in an effort to resolve the issue, but no permanent solution could be found. Subsequently, the residents of the village brought their plight to the attention of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj's Satlok Ashram.
According to the villagers, under Phase 2 of the 'Annapurna Muhim' (Annapurna Campaign), essential resources were provided to the village; these included a 3,100-foot-long, 8-inch pipeline, a 10 HP motor, a tractor coupling set, and other necessary equipment for water drainage. Additionally, arrangements were made for a generator and diesel supply to ensure that the relief operations could continue without interruption.
The villagers express that hope for farming has been rekindled on the very land where, for years, nothing but water was visible. The farmers are confident that, in the near future, their land will once again flourish with bountiful crops.
