So…hey guys. I really wish I didn’t have to do this, but I’m in a very dire situation right now. I’m jobless and overwhelmed in literal mountains of debt right now because of the scarce jobs here. And here comes my recent disaster. What you see above is my bank account right now. And this is not my bank account because I went $286.39 over what I had, no. It’s paypal having screwed me over.
Here’s what happened. My bank glitched out and told me there was money on my account when there really wasn’t, so I ended up going about four dollars, give or take, over what I actually had. That’s a big fucking yikes because there were three purchases of about $2 dollars or less each that went over the amount I had. And this particular bank, which I’m dropping the moment I can pay off this amount, charges a fee of $32 every time it goes over.
To make matters worse, paypal will attempt to take the money out of your bank THREE TIMES The purchases were made through paypal through my bank account. This is a total of NINE TIMES paypal tried to take out money that wasn’t there, charging my account $32 NINE TIMES. Mind you, this is ridiculous, considering I contacted paypal once it was at $92 so they would prevent anymore damage to my account. They told me they changed the payment method they would charge me out of to another bank acc that did have money. i was told the situation was resolved and that there was nothing else to worry about.
….Only my account still kept going overdraft after that. What happens next is that I call paypal again and ask them wtf is going on. They tell me I was given false info and that there was no way to freeze or change the payment method of a transaction that had already gone through once. Naturally, I was furious because my bank alone couldn’t do anything about the situation and told me to call paypal, and paypal didn’t help me. After ignoring my situation entirely and ignoring how furious I was, they connected me to someone else to collect a payment of $2.16, which was only ONE of the transactions that was at fault. I paid it from a different bank account. And guess what? Even after I paid that amount, you’d think at least that transaction would be halted.
They still tried to take it out of my overdraft bank account even after I paid it.
The end result is this-me, nearly $300 overdraft that I owe, all because I went $6 dollars over and paypal nor my bank would help me. I’m already thousands of dollars in debt. I won’t have a job to pay this off until spring of next year. Please, if you can spare anything, feel free to donate to my paypal at [email protected]. Anything helps and at least alleviates my debt. Sadly this is all I can provide at the moment, as I had to sell my drawing tablet so that I could get it replaced and make a profit off my drawings to alleviate debt.
