May 24 is the birthday of Ayano Gunji, the fifth actress to play Chibiusa/Sailor Chibi Moon in the Sailor Moon musicals. Her first musical was Shin Densetsu Kourin in 1998, and her final show was in 2000’s Shin / Henshin - Super Senshi e no Michi - Last Dracul Jokyoku.
Ayano was the longest running Chibi Moon actress. She was also the oldest to play Chibiusa in the first run of the musicals, graduating four months before she turned 12; when Petite Étrangère began, Airi Kanda was only two months away from turning twelve.
May 24 is the birthday of Keiko Takeda, the first actress to play Hotaru Tomoe/Sailor Saturn in the Sailor Moon musicals. Her first show was Sailor Moon SuperS - Yume Senshi - Ai - Eien ni… in 1995, although the character of Hotaru did not technically debut until the next musical, and her last show was Eien Densetsu (Kaiteiban) - The Final First Stage, in 1998.

In 1997 the Italian psychologist Vera Slepoj declared that the last season of the Sailor Moon anime would seriously compromise children’s sexual identity because of the Three Lights’ sex change when they transformed into Sailor Senshi.
