They saw the Herald die. The Inquisition watched from the relative safety of the mountain peak as the Herald stayed behind and faced the Darkspawn magister alone. They watched him stand, and they watched him fall; crushed under the avalanche that buried their home. They paused for a moment, but there was no time to mourn. The survivors turned their back on their home and their fallen savior, and marched into the unfamiliar mountains. The path was long and treacherous, with no destination in sight. Their numbers dwindled as men died from their wounds, and children were taken by the cold. Their leaders fought amongst themselves, fueled by rage and desperation. Just when all hope seemed lost, the Herald returned: as if resurrected by the Maker himself. They followed with renewed vigor as the Herald of Andrastre lead them undaunted into the mountains. No one doubted his faith as he fearlessly guided them across the Frostbacks where no man had ventured. Against all odds, they discovered an abandoned fortress nestled among the cliffs, its stone walls glistening in the light of the dawn. For a starving college student, no job is too humble. @cyanidecereals requested R.D. (or Flynn) in a maid outfit. The typical “maid outfit” was rather scandalous, so I compromised and made him a sort of butler I guess. Desolation *Part 7* The only way Flynn could think to describe the dragon was rage incarnate; destruction and power in its purest form. Blades and arrows clanked against its legs; strong as stone. Fire and lighting danced off its scales like the summer rain. Every sweep of its tail diverted rivers and the snap of its jaws was like a thunder crack that echoed eternally over the mountain side. It’s claws shredded the earth with every step as scalding fire bellowed out of its mouth. To look in its eyes was to embrace death, and Flynn had a front row seat. Fear lodged in his mind like an splinter, burrowing deeper and deeper though dreams and reality. A festering wound that would never heal. * *** Sorry this took so long! Flynn is not adapting well to his new responsibilities, and often takes off on his own to clear his head. His companions see this behavior as irresponsible and unbecoming of the Herald of Andraste. Flynn hears their crude remarks, but finds it easy to ignore them. He never wanted to be a Herald in the first place. The position didn’t come with a instruction manual, so he would make his own. Rule number 1: The Herald deserves downtime. Unfortunately, the local wildlife is illiterate and has no respect for rules anyway.

After the events at the Temple of Sacred Ashes, Flynn Trevelyan fell into a feverish sleep for three days. He awoke in the village of Haven, where people were calling him the Herald of Andraste. Some worshiped him, others cursed his name. No longer a prisoner but now a religious icon, Flynn agrees to help the newly found Inquisition finish closing the breach and bring order to Thedas. Feeling more like a prisoner than ever, he is sent across Ferelden more as a errand boy than a herald. Sealing the breach. *Part 3* With no clear hierarchy of leadership, the survivors turn to Flynn for direction. Regardless of the suspicion cast upon him, they follow his lead and take the mountain pass, finding the lost scouts surrounded by demons. Flynn proves his loyalty to Casandra’s cause as he fights alongside her to the breach, nearly killing himself in an attempt to seal it. .

Happy Mer-May! I spent way longer on this than I should have, and if I do anymore they will probably be much more simplistic. :P Anywho, this is Flint; the main character in my webcomic Freaks. (Www.freakycomic.com) he refused to be drawn as a mermaid unless I gave him a weapon of some sort, so he’s got a little trident thing.
