We are a family of humans with our feet on the earth and our hearts in heaven. We are average and called, normal and chosen, just like you and unique- all at the same time. We have been awakened the the wild love of Jesus, and our deepest desire is to experience that love in our own hearts and share it with every person we meet. His love is real, powerful, transformative, and tangible. This is wild hope.

Don’t be a Chicken

“But seek his kingdom, and these things will be provided for you. Don’t be afraid, little flock, because your Father delights to give you the kingdom.” (Luke 12:32)

In The Passion Translation this reads, “So don’t ever be afraid, dearest friends! Your loving Father joyously gives you his kingdom realm with all its promises!”

Your loving Father gives you His kingdom with joy! What boldness we can walk in when we grasp our own identity and the Fathers love for us! We are His beloved, His children. As his children we have been given His kingdom: His royal power, kingship, dominion, and rule. And we get to bring that kingdom into effect all around us. His kingdom is freedom, power, healing.

Today I’m reminding myself of this because I need to remember what I’ve been given. I’ve been chicken lately. I watched a man walk by in a neck brace and I hesitated, and then I didn't pray for him. I haven't been keeping my head up and my eyes open. But I’ve been given the the kingdom, and the privilege of enforcing and expanding it wherever I go. 

Let's bring the kingdom my friends. Let’s remember what we’ve been given and the authority we walk in. Let’s give away with joy what's been given to us with joy!

things unknown and things orchestrated

This past week and a half has been challenging. One of our kiddos has a concussion from several head bonks! Another one needs to go the the doctor because her tummy keeps hurting. Those are only 2 of a cluster of things that we wait to see resolved. And there it is- the tension of God’s kingdom that has come, and parts of the Kingdom that have not yet come in our lives. We pray for healing for our kids but don't see it yet. We pray for resolution in situations but still wait for that breakthrough. But through it all, God really is good! There is so much we don't know- there is the mystery to this walk. In our “western” worldview we tend to feel very uncomfortable with mystery and the unknown! As we stand in the truth of the goodness of God, we trust that He is working for our good even when we don't see immediate results. I cannot see the spiritual battle that is taking place around me, but I know its happening. I know there is a resistance against the Kingdom. Just as armies go out and “take the land”, we are still taking the land for the Kingdom! This land taking is in a spiritual sense. As believers we do not want to dominate or control the government or world. We want to see every heart have an encounter with the reality of a GOOD God! Because that changes everything!

While we wait for our breakthroughs, we still see God breaking through around us! I had the most amazing Jesus-led conversation with another mom at my kids school today. I learned she is a new believer and we had an incredible conversation. I was given the gift of being able to pray over her and she sensed a new peace right away! It was so beautiful. I can't share the whole story here right now, but maybe in the future with her permission I can share with you just how beautifully God orchestrated this conversation. It’s so good you guys!

So even as I walk in things unknown, I still see Him working in me, through me, and in those around me! Yes God! Your kingdom come! On earth as it is in heaven!

Keep asking and seeking my friends. It is going to pay off. Don’t give up.

“Ask, and the gift is yours. 

Seek, and you’ll discover. 

Knock, and the door will be opened for you. 

For every persistent one will get what he asks for.

Every persistent seeker will discover what he longs for. 

And everyone who knocks persistently will one day find an open door.

 “Do you know of any parent who would give his hungry child, who asked for food, a plate of rocks instead? Or when asked for a piece of fish, what parent would offer his child a snake instead? If you, imperfect as you are, know how to lovingly take care of your children and give them what’s best, how much more ready is your heavenly Father to give wonderful gifts to those who ask him?”

Ordinary People

“The council members were astonished as they witnessed the bold courage of Peter and John, especially when they discovered that they were just ordinary men who had never had religious training. Then they began to understand the effect Jesus had on them simply by spending time with him. Standing there with them was the healed man, and there was nothing further they could say.” Acts 4:13-14

I’m sitting with these two verses today, and they are penetrating deep into my heart. I’m thinking about Peter and John, who had no religious training. And that the council members began to understand the effect Jesus had on them by SIMPLY SPENDING TIME with Him! Standing there with them was the HEALED man- and they couldn’t argue with the evidence! 

And here I am, an ordinary human. My husband, an ordinary man. But as we spend time with Jesus, the world won't be able to deny the evidence that will follow us like a trail, an undeniable trail, that leads straight to the Fathers heart. 

Let it be so Jesus, let it be so!

Today as I chatted with a friend I glanced at a young man working at our church coffee bar seated on a stool. I had the impression he was seated because he was injured and I should pray for him. Honestly, I didn't follow through with the impression. I came back to talk to my friend later and this young man came limping up to us. “I want you to get off that foot” my friend told him. I asked him what happened, and he said he injured it during a pick up game. I asked if I could pray for it and he said yes! So I knelt down and prayed for his foot and released healing over it. When I stood up I asked him what his pain level was before. He told me it was an 8. When I asked what it was now, he said “I can’t feel anything!” I asked if that meant no pain and he said yes! When he tested it out he felt a little tension in it still so I prayed again after we thanked God for what He was doing. He said his foot felt so much better! I’m so thankful that the Lord wants to show us His love by healing! (Photo is of my feet, not the young mans)

supernatural chiropractic care

Saturday morning was so fun- I had the opportunity to pray for a new friend who was having a tension headache. Her pain level was a 6 or 7, after we prayed the first time it went down to a 5, I prayed again and it went down to a 3, and the last time it went to a 1 or zero! She was so excited after the last prayer! My friend was laughing and laughing and said she could feel tingles all through her head and spine, and that it felt like she’d been to the chiropractor!! Her joy just overflowed onto everyone around her! Yay God!!!

burning ones

There is a generation of burning ones being raised up. I suppose the term ‘generation’ is misleading because these are not just college age young adults or a specific age group. This is a group of people who are all ages and races, and are lit for God. They are on fire. They are burning from the inside out for Jesus. They are burning to set the entire world on fire with love. They burn to testify of the absolute goodness of God. They carry power in their hands, words of life in their mouths, and their feet are spreading peace everywhere they tread.

Are you a burning one? You might be reading this and already know that you are a burning one. But maybe you don't know yet. I believe that as you read this a fire is growing in your belly, and there is a burning in your heart. There is a hunger stirring. Rise up burning one. Step out. The time is now for you.

Mary

Tonight I chatted with an older woman named Mary. We started talking at the book drop at our local library. She was pushing a cart of groceries and on her way home. Mary shared with me parts of her story- a story filled with challenges. In spite of the challenges she shared with me about the importance of having a sense of humor and being able to laugh at life. Mary told me about how she prayed for her children and grandchildren every night. It sounded like she felt burdened for them and that she maybe felt like she was the only one praying for them. I felt like the Father was saying that today someone was praying for HER! I prayed for Mary, for healing and a fresh encounter with God. We also lifted up two daughters who have mental struggles. I know Jesus is going to meet her with a fresh experience! #prayer #yaygod #powerandlove

day one- who we are

We are a family of humans with our feet on the earth and our hearts in heaven. We are average and called, normal and chosen, just like you and unique- all at the same time. We have been awakened the the wild love of Jesus, and our deepest desire is to experience that love in our own hearts and share it with every person we meet. His love is real, powerful, transformative, and tangible.

Dalen is a man who has seen that transformation first hand. Jesus awakened his heart to the true love of God, and he is a new creation. Hungry for more of the Fathers heart and to see it manifest around him, Dalen shares that love in his daily life at work. Little do people know that the HVAC Technician who sets foot on their construction site or restaurant is bringing not only technical skills, but the message of the true goodness of God.

Megan is a dreamer who wants to see the fantastic. She is in love with Jesus and is in pursuit of living in the childlike faith that Jesus points us all toward. She longs to share the Fathers love with everyone she encounters, and wants to see other humans have a tangible experience with the God of the universe. She spends her days driving around 5 children, making meals, and making frequent stops at Starbucks, all while looking for opportunities to share His heart.. Megan is the primary writer on the Wild Hope blog.
