JUNO NEJEM is NINETEEN years old and sure looks a lot like GIGI HADID, don’t they? I hear that she is very RESOLUTE, but they can also be FERVENT. They are a LITERATURE student and people say they’re the WILDCARD of the Sirens. ( red + nineteen + est + she/her )

aesthetic. chipped nail polish, potted plants, old canvas shoes, high waisted jean shorts. hiding in clearly stolen jackets ( too big for her small frame, hanging past the hem of her skirt ). enjoying the chaos of the mistakes she’s made. sex in the stacks before getting distracted by her own classics. new car in a bad neighborhood and the burn of cheap vodka. an hour spent hunched over an almanac to see what his flowers meant. lit candles even when the power’s fine, a plastic walmart bag taped over her dorm’s smoke detector. cheerleader skirt rolled up to just the right length. diamond crucifix traded in for new age spiritualism, tarot cards, and electric guitars. the juxtaposition of 90s grunge with old standards and modern rap, dancing across her uncarpeted floor with invisible partners. smart, but hardly thinking. candy on her arm for the shock value, like so much she does. a claim for independence funded by someone else’s credit card. 

at the beginning, juno’s life could have been the poster for rich suburbia. after the accident, it could have been the beginning of another cinderella story —— a devastating crash took mrs. nejem out of the picture. however, mr. nejem never remarried, instead spending the time he wasn’t managing his firm caring for his little sunshine, juno. but that wasn’t the reason they strayed from the fairytale storyline. no, that had more to do with little juno herself, who soon became a teenage girl and felt stifled by her father’s protective nature. 

college was the blonde’s opportunity to break free, to find herself and lose her father. juno became experimental at best, and erratic in reality. she appears more like a child trying on other’s clothes, or a person shoddily constructed out of leftovers. a gentle new age spirit, who loves frank sinatra and kayne west, and won’t be quite so gentle if you piss her off. 

declared as a literature major but on track to be pre - med as well ( though she hasn’t declared and would prefer you didn’t tell her father ). her books take care of her and she harbors a silent want to take care of others. if you’re by her side, consider yourself lucky and prepare yourself to be quietly looked after when anything goes wrong. though, her methods are slightly more homegrown than one might expect from her secret major. 

a fraud claiming to be independent, a credit card with home as the billing address can be found in her wallet and she doesn’t actually have a job.

once a drama queen, always a drama queen. her anger is quick in both directions, often disappearing as fast as it arose. she just needs to get it out of her system! you can’t do much about it or which side you land on, but if you do end up on her shit list... well i wish you the best of luck. juno has no interest in claiming the throne, but she’s not switzerland either. trust that she’ll be in the background, playing politics to her own advantage and those she considers in her corner. 

her dorm is a dark double, though she is the only inhabitant ( her roommate moved out last semester, medical leave ), with the shades drawn. contraband candles juxtaposed with neon track lighting, and a nest of possibly too many pillows atop her lofted bed. with its current occupation and sound system, it’s a great place for the sirens to have a small soiree before the move out on the prowl. the walls covered in vinyl stickers, enough posters to rival your middle school sister and one tapestry, the floor home to no rug ( “ too many spills on the last one ! ” ) and a futon her old roommate left behind. there’s a gymnastics finals trophy on top of her closet; the only hold over from her previous life.
