Amarok

A year and a half ago I lost my dog, Amarok. I made Wilderness Essays for the both of us - my own personal chronicle of a boy and his dog. He was my partner in crime, my rock in an unsteady sea of change; unwavering in his fidelity even when I came up short as a human. Since I lost him it’s been hard to get behind the idea of posting something new on here. And yet I’m on here everyday checking out other people’s stories, pictures and adventures. 

I know that if he were still here we’d be going on adventures together and getting into all kinds of trouble. I’m doing my best to live by that philosophy and I think I’m ready to start sharing with others again. But I just want to post about him one more time. 

I miss you, Amarok. Here’s to you!

I could not think of a better way to remember my boy, Amarok. Missing him a lot right now. Thank you so much @annmarietaps for the gift. I’m beyond grateful and lucky to have you as a friend.

Got home earlier enough today to hang out with my pup, make some dinner (vegan lasagna) and listen to music. Not far from perfect. Now back to work! #organizergrind

Glad to have this guy back from the vet today. He had to have surgery on his foot for an injury and will have to take in easy for a month or two to heal. After that, it'll be back to running, climbing and jumping on everything! #Amarok
