1/ brumal 

characteristic of or relating to winter.

2/ harvest moon

the name given to the full moon that takes place closest to the autumn equinox. it is called a harvest moon because the moon is particularly bright and rises early.

in the past, this allowed farmers to extend their working day and work by the light of the extra-bright moon, gathering crops to prepare for the winter months.

3/ burnt heather

heather is an evergreen shrub. usually lots of heather plants grow together, forming a thick, bushy carpet, sometimes up to half a metre tall, helping the plant to survive strong winds. nectar from heather flowers makes excellent honey.

4/ hellebore

a poisonous winter-flowering eurasian plant of the buttercup family, typically having coarse divided leaves and large white, green, or purplish flowers.

5/ equinox

the time or date at which the sun crosses the celestial equator, when day and night are of equal length. this happens twice a year.

existing in a natural state, as animals or plants; not domesticated or cultivated; wild.

an act of change, whether that's direction, personality or the days when green leaves turn to red, orange, yellow and brown.

when the sun appears to reach its most northerly or southerly point, the shortest and longest day of the year. the solstice signals the change of the seasons.

9/ witch hazel

a shrub which blooms in the dead of winter often used as a natural medicine due to its powerful properties. it's widely known to ease inflammation and soothe sensitive skin.
